Dr. Böhm and Karajan were the only disciples like sons that R.Strauss could entrust with the performance of his works, including his unique musical aesthetics & manifestation of the spirit of the time.

It's correct,but I would add the name of Clemens Krauss,supreme conductor of Strauss music.
