@@jimmyg3835 Yep, according to martins continuation of the watcher lore, grian didn't like their methods and is trying to get away from them, and the reality that he is a watcher. The watchers don't have power over every server though, according to his QnA. Since hermitcraft has relatively little genuine feelings of sadness, anger, or betrayal (in their characters/personas eyes, of course) it means that the watchers have no power there, or even if they did, have no interest in it, so if you had to connect the two series, it's possible that Grian left into hermitcraft and stayed there because he could be normal again, since he had no power there, and the watchers wouldn't be able to come for him either.

The amount of detail and hidden secrets that make it seem like an entire arg to unpack that just needs the right parts and the qr codes in conjunction providing a clue to maybe something and the captions and the galactic is just amazing, not to mention the animation being beautiful as hell.

I’ve seen this animatic a bajillion times and it’s still amazing. Also, in case anyone is interested, my personal Watcher!Grian headcanon is that he was trained to be a Watcher there after Evo and always thought they were friendly and on his side. The watchers started giving him extra training after he finished his Watcher training, and were basically raising him to be their 5th, and most powerful, leader (because in my Watcher headcanon there are 4 categories of watcher magic with their own really powerful leader). To test Grian further, they sent him to a world with just a block of bedrock with no explanation and only his watcher mask. Thinking it would please them, Grian made an entire normal minecraft world from the world, and then the Hermits arrived, adopted him, and after the Season the Watchers expected him to stay in the world to be brought back to the watcher’s world and proclaimed as their god, but he joined the Hermits in Season 7 (where he found out the Watchers weren’t actually very good)

Fluffle says grian becoming a watcher is punishment for disobeying them by stealing clay from the watcher temple on another SMP then as a joke mumbo steals part of groans soul (?) And becomes basically a watcher too and then people hate them and all that. Everytime there is something with cool lore or a good storyline I become obsessed with it for like 5 years.

okay before I put down a ton of translations I found this and I think its more to the author then the plot lol its on the back wall before grian covers it, all writen in extremely hard to read galactic as is everything. Anyway its at 0:23 if you wanna try and catch it It says (its the one with 2 !!) This is mainly for my future self : there are many more productive, important and wholesome things you an be doing than checking twitter. if this was a note to the author in the future I find this extremely funny. Soon I'll but translations I found nut I thought I would put this first :) Okay I'll start with the galatic on the other boards. I can assume purple is written by Grian while the gray is writen by other watchers. #1 (Gray) run on magic only! #2 (Purple) What is function? #3 (Purple) Redstone? #4 (Gray) Project : Robot with magic (with a purple line under it ._.) #5 (on the book at the bottom in gray) End #6 (On a seperate thing than 1 - 4, oppisite of DUE TOM! gas gas gas (lol)) Year 1 list : #7 which is what the author did lol oh god theres more be back in a bit The um QR codes are different the first goes to a page called imgur and shows a paper that has been ripped up..I tried my best to translate it but its rips made it hard. Sometimes I would forget to watch any for three days and then I would watch it pretty much an entire day. >^-^'< It's not a ton of episodes in comparison to some other series though.

I had this tab open on my computer for the last three months, rewatching it occasionally, admiring the animation, and its just today I realized I hadnt given this video a like! And let me say, the amount of detail in the symbolism, the detail of the characters, the use of color...I love it! And not to even mention the massive amount of work put into the landscape of the city (and the fact we only see it for brief moments!!!11!!1!) And this is a high energy song! And you did all of it!!! Wow!!!

And while the Watchers as a whole are morally grey, do keep in mind that that this Animatic was drawn in the viewpoint of Grian, who has bad blood with the two leaders and as a result his viewpoint of the watcher is based on that(why they had a falling out would explained later)
