In the first day of r/place 2022, after helping OMORI and OneShot a bit, I noticed that the Touhou communnity didn't make anything yet. So I joined their discord... and here's how I spent the next 3.5 days

Everyone went crazy in the voice call as we were watching the PCB pixel art graze the giant xqc void. Even more so because even though we were in osu!'s overlay at the time, the PCB pixel art was with slight wrong coordinates (the guys who update the overlay were asleep) which means it'd be harder to recover from (unlike 0:54)

Perhaps the character that went through the most pain here was Romania Alice. Me and some of the folks of Gensokyo Radio tried to keep her alive as long as we could and then the bot wipe happened. Even after she was rebuilt and Genso Radio got their place on the 2017 art, I made sure she was safe.

the drawing of nitori and reimu above peru was weird a peruvian streamer made the drawing of the macchu picchu and was using bots so every time r/touhou wanted to rebuild it it got deleted , so there were 2 peruvian sides the ones who wanted to give r/touhou and r /bluey the sky to draw and the side of the streamer fans. after that we , r/peru decided to attack the streamer drawing so he would stop botting the sky and left him bald but after that his drawing expanded to the uk drawing and now it was. peru ,touhou, bluey, australia, uk ,part of hololive and vocaloid vs the peruvian streamer fans and bots and then r/place stopped with touhou changing the drawing , the streamer leaving the corner to uk and r/peru leaving him bald.

There are some imperfections but it's really nice to look at

We made friends and alliances with a lot of communities! In terms of smaller ones I personally helped the red controller guys (0:50), the BSM people (0:50, they just wanted a screenshot so we helped them finish) and the online sequencer (website) mascot (0:30, green haired left to OMORI). And there's a lot more, check the images in 1:44-1:47. (The last one isn't even its final form, I accidently used an outdated one)

​ @Skeke I agree it'd be difficult, but I think it might be doable. If we were to do a 25x25px frame, we'd have 625 pixels to account for. If we got 30 people together on discord, we could put out a single frame just under every two hours lol althought, that's assuming we'd have to replace *every* pixel per frame change, which obviously wouldnt be the case, so it'd be much faster than that in reality Probably naïve of me to think it'd be smooth sailing, but a boy can dream right? haha

It's exactly as you said, bad apple is fast to animate because not every pixel needs to change every frame (except for the 5 or so frames where it inverts everything 💀)

From what I've heard, and from what's documented on our side, r/Peru always wanted to be in good relations with r/touhou, r/southpark, etc. However a peruvian streamer, against r/Peru will, used bots to expand the Peru artwork (and proceed to add nothing to the blue sky they created)
