R11/R34 Prototypes Photo Slideshow

These prototypes were pretty interesting. Most of the time they were on display or fan trips, but sometimes they ran in regular service.

Very nice. These subway cars must have turned alot of heads when they first rolled into the system as the first stainless train. It was way ahead of its time.

@@markgriffin2087 They Wanted to make a Train With Circles So The R11/34 Was The The First One That Had A Door With A Window in the Front With Circle Then R15 Had these Later then R16 Then R17. R11/34,R15,R16 And R17 Had These Kinda Door Sadly All of them were Scaped in 70s and 80s

The only memory I have of the R11s is when they were converted into R34s on the Franklin Avenue Shuttle. I never got to ride it. I just used to see them at Prospect Park Station 🚉
