Hi, I have 2013 RT with 105000ks on it.I have changed two shims in all the time I have owned it. I check every 30000ks the amount is nothing to worry about the problem is only when the gap get significantly smaller. I have owned the bike from new I am a mechanical engineer and do all my own work on my bikes over the last 50 years. Most of them BMW'S

Thanks for posting this as it's quite informative. Perhaps BM's measurement/check intervals are a little conservative, although better that, than not. I have 24' RT and the first valve check is at 12,000 miles along with other stuff of course.

Yeah, the newest generation has a longer interval, which is more competitive with the rest of the market.

Is that an excel spreadsheet? My 13 RT gets similar use to yours and is due valve check at 6,000 from last.

Actually, that was just a word table, but same idea. I had been hand writing the results, but this gives me a complete picture at a glance.
