2:03 I am wondering about Step 9 - couldn't you just disconnect the wiring harness instead of removing the seat control altogether - or am I missing something important? Thanks, this has been very helpful.

I think you could. I just took out the whole assembly because it was easier to not have to tape around the seat controls for painting.
