Val, the door chuck....I have same problem loud...can you lube them instead of replacement?

Lube can work for the door check, but it likely won't last long. The noise usually means that the internal mechanism has bent. Before replacing, I sprayed a lubricant and it did cut the noise considerably...it's stop gap measure but ultimately they need to be replaced.

watched it again - great - do you think its worth using a UV spray on those older plastics? -I thought that's why they that's get brittle? - that and heat and age.

I think spray cleaners for vinyl and plastic that include UV inhibitors are good and will help prevent plastic getting brittle. However, they won’t bring back the brittle plastic but will slow down the deterioration process. Products like Mothers VLR and 303 Aerospace are good products to use.

I had to reglue all clip holders. They came off when I used a screwdriver to pry off the panel.Next time I'll use a door panel removal tool.

The panel removal kit is a must-have for this type of work. It saves a lot of time and won't break the clips. Although, even with the tool, you may still break a clip, but most will be unharmed.

Thank you very much Handy. I think on 1325 ( Video time ) you should insert front side first not the side with metal clips to avoid front side plastic from broken.

Yes! The plastic clips side should get put in first, and then the metal clip side just gets pushed in. The way I showed in the video can still work, as long as you slide it and then try to clear the plastic clips. Thanks for sharing your experience.

.. and silicone/electric cleaner on the switches - I put rubber grease on the seals - any thoughts?

I like to use a silicone grease for rubber seals, like SuperLube Silicone grease. Just make sure the product is made for rubber. I also like CRC electronic cleaner for electrical connectors - a little spray goes a long way.

I have a 1994 sl600 that is giving me the blues! Its overheating and I'm trying to troubleshoot it. Ty again!

An amazing engine on the SL600! I'd suggest starting with basic troubshooting first. Is there enough coolant (check the reservoir but only when the car is cold, as you can burn yourself), is the car leaking coolant, is the water pump working properly (feel the rubber tubes when the car is on for coolant movement), does the engine fan come on..
