Steps to Change Oil:
1. Prepare the Bike
Warm up the engine for about 5 minutes to make the oil less viscous, but don't let it get too hot to touch.
Place the bike on a center stand or paddock stand for stability.
2. Locate the Drain Plug
The drain plug is usually at the bottom of the engine. Refer to your owner’s manual for exact location.
3. Drain the Old Oil
Place the drain pan under the drain plug.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the drain plug carefully.
Allow the old oil to drain completely (this can take 5-10 minutes).
4. Replace the Oil Filter (if needed)
Locate the oil filter (usually near the engine casing).
Remove the filter cover using the appropriate wrench.
Take out the old oil filter and replace it with a new one.
Ensure the O-ring is in place and lubricated before securing the new filter.
5. Reinstall the Drain Plug
Clean the drain plug and replace the washer (if needed).
Tighten the drain plug securely but don’t overtighten to avoid stripping threads.
6. Add New Engine Oil
Check your manual for the exact oil capacity (R15 typically takes around 1.0 to 1.2 liters).
Remove the oil filler cap and pour the recommended oil using a funnel.
Stop periodically to check the oil level with the dipstick or through the sight glass.
7. Check the Oil Level
Ensure the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick or sight glass.
Add more oil if necessary, but do not overfill.
8. Inspect for Leaks
Start the engine and let it run for a minute.
Check for any oil leaks around the drain plug and oil filter area.
Turn off the engine and recheck the oil level, topping it up if needed.
9. Dispose of Used Oil
Pour the old oil into a sealed container and take it to a recycling center or authorized disposal point.
Maintenance Tips:
Change the engine oil every 3,000-4,000 km or as specified in your owner's manual.
Always use genuine or high-quality oil and filters for optimal performance.
Record the date and mileage of your oil change for reference.
