I tour a lot on my V3, yes ergonomics is an issue, you do get tired sooner than say a less committed bike, but the bike is very well engineered. I have a shoulder problem which used to hurt a lot while touring on my previous bike, Pulsar 200ns, now surprisingly it's less painful on my V3 and only starts hurting after a significantly longer duration on the saddle as compared to the 200ns. My tips for touring on the V3- 1: get at least a good quality riding jacket, gloves and light helmet(heavier helmets tire your neck faster) 2: get a non megnatic tank bag, (I use rynox) you can also lean on the bag and rest your hands and lower back this way(recommended when traffic is less), only problem with tank bag is you can't hang off the bike for leaning as it obstructs your arms but then I don't ride/lean too hard while touring so not much of an issue 3: get a phone mount with charger which costs around 700rs(you'll love it!) which can be easily fitted as V3 already has port for connecting charger 4: get an auxiliary LED light, I fitted mine to the number plate holder and connected it to the high beam 5: get a motorcycle cruise/throttle control, which is basically a piece of plastic where you rest your palms, helps you to cruise more easily without tiring your hands, costs around a 100rs 6: grab your bike with your thighs and support your weight with it and keep your arms free from your body weight 7: always try to stay in left hand side of the white line, not too close to the shoulder of the road (leave room for steering away from potential accident) A lot more but nothing beats experience so keep touring and learn by yourself too!! That's touring.

Human body is meant to change position after some interval even a person sitting in a very comfortable office chair needs to change position due to pain, than how can you ride a bike in same position for 200 or 2000km? Just keep changing from time to time and take rests at 110km or 150km as per your bodys capacity.

I saw this video before buying a V3.. Now its been 7 months that I own R15V3.. Honestly I would say, first 1000kms were hard.. I had to learn perfect posture to suit my body type and trust me, this bike teaches you a lot. I have been a big time tourer but I wasn't sure if I can tour on this bike as I did not clock more than 300km in a day before on this bike. I woke up at 4 in the morning , tied my luggage ( yes its possible, just use some common sense ) and got rolling from Madurai-TN.. I was at kolhapur-MH by 7.. I took breaks, slept for 2 long hours when heat was at its peak.. still clocked 1100km in a day. Good thing is, I was able to clock another 400km very next day without a hitch. This is highest anybody can tour on any fancy bike.. So just pointing out that your 150cc is a beast too. Few things I will mention; pros/cons ? you decide. 1. I started off from Thiruvanathpuram-KL at 8 in the night, went to Madurai-TN, stayed at my friends place as it was too late to ride.. ( Never ride in the night, because there is literally zero practical advantage of driving in the night , and mind you, you are hearing this from a person who loves to ride at night, but again short trips are okay.. long tours- No no ) 2. Took some rest and took off from Madurai and reached Kolhapur by 7. I was cruising at avg speed of 120 all along.. on certain good patches I was able to touch 154kmph. Got milage of around 40-42 kmpl. 3. On the return Journey from my hometown to Kerala.. I covered first 700-800 km till Bangalore. Stayed there for the night.. and Covered the next 700-800km the other day.. I was driving very neatly, no full throttles.. cruising around 100kmph. Got 50kmpl. I would say, 300km tour in a day on this bike is a kids job. 700km in a day - yes, any day.. you can do this kind of stretch. 1100km - you need to be fit and most importantly, you need to spend time with this bike before you do such stretches. Pain/ Discomfort : ( did 12000 km in 7 months ) Lower back : Never Wrist : Yes , for first 1000km ( untill you get used to the sitting posture ) / when you have a pillion in the city traffic,who's weight crosses 60kg mark. Shoulders : same as wrist but doesn't pain as much as wrist. Upper back : Never. Legs : Surprisingly, Nobody has ever talked about this.. But your legs will pain on long stretches as foot pegs are rear set.. your calf muscles will pain for sure while touring. Milage : Depends upon your cruising speed ( RPM to be precise when we are talking about a specific bike ( If you are an engineer then you know the graph )) 45kmpl is what you should expect in the end. Warning : Its a sports bike.. at certain situations you will feel that the bite and braking this bike offers are not upto the mark. but hello, its a sports bike, you are not supposed to stand on your rear brake when in panic.. This gets a slipper clutch for a reason.. If you dont understand the use of it, You will end up skidding your rear wheel every now and then.. Dont doubt the mechanics of the bike , its engineered by the people who understands the sport very well, try doubting your skills for once.

I did a ride from Mumbai to Goa up down, on my yamaha R15 v3, and to be honest it was fantastic. This machine is too good, but definitely not comfortable. I had to take a break after 30-40 min to comfort my back and wrists, and other hectic part was tying a bag on the pillion sit. But the engine was just awesome. I covered 600 km in a day, and it took around 16 hours as I took lots of breaks.

R15v3 can cruise at 120-130 at ease.. The top speed is actually higher than what you mentioned. You went by the company claimed speed maybe. But in actual condition the r15v3 can reach top speeds of 140kph +..with enough rpm juice to go further. Most of it is due to the high tech VVA and crazy top end. The superbike sized aerodynamics are a bonus

Guys i got my r15 v3 bs4 dark edition dual abs model back on dec 2019.I paid 176k ₹ for the bike(in kerala including taxes and 5year compulsary insurance) with 5 year warranty coverage for 100+ items and engine with extra manufacturer recommended fittings and another 10k ₹ for the registration process including fancy date of birth😁 and customisations. I love this babe so much. Btw im not a squid. Never ever(Cz my fate shows me why not to)😊. The riding feel and the concentrated riding position (track based/race oriented) gave me an ecstasy to ride ma v3 like "The weeknd" in "blinding lights" which is insane(carefull with blinding lights on kerala roads😁). Plus im riding most of the time with mid-high(vva enabled) thorttles(50-100 Km/h), engine brakes and 100% front brakes on every braking scenario. I'll say especially about dual channel abs here with sufficient brake bite. Cz the level of safety it can provide to a 2 wheeler machine which is made ready to fly fast and smooth.Suspensions are great for corners which will add a good touch for the riding quality and confidence. Slipper clutch and dual abs combined will instantly trap you hands to the bikes handle with love💕.The absence of fairing vibrations took me to another level of comfort. I had my v3 customised after registration (DOB). Double bouble visor(black tint),flushmount indicator, frame sliders, hazard light, brake&clutch lever guards .(no tail tidy no fancy plates and no custom exhaust. Cz RTO guys are so stronk🤭).with all this safe and legal customisations and removing goldy r15 logo and stripes/stickers (dont remove yamaha and vva logo/sticker) and u are looking at the real dark knight. Im also a "doctor 46" fan.This machine made my love to yamaha so big as well as a personal v3 fan💕.Im getting about 43-51kmpl mileage which is great for this potential of a 155cc bike.The Vva technology is not a gimmick. It delivers a powerful thrust to the engine and to your ecstasy. And i love my babe v3 more than me. Her DOB is ending with_ _ _ _ BL 1515💕💕. Damn i love ma v3. Hope you like my experience,findings,feelings and sharings. Tq so much and take care guys. God bless. peace.

A 6th gear for fz25 would have solved the problem. It's a perfect engine but for a tourer it needs a cruising speed and that gear is missing that is 6th gear. I don't face any problem reaching up to a speed of 138kmph on fz 25 but then vibration kicks in and it struggle to go up to it's max speed 145kmph. The tuning is done well by Yamaha for a city commuter. I'm not an automobile engineer so maybe Yamaha did it on purpose.

Whats vibration free cruising speed on fz25
@jonnyboy7156 жыл бұрын
The fz 25 has more power and torque than this R15 and you're saying put this lesser powered engine on the fz25 for touring ? What the fuck ? The only thing that's missing on the fz25 is the 6th gear. Otherwise that is the better engine for touring. Don't just say something for the sake of it.

Greetings. Been following your channel for quiet some time. Pretty much agree with almost all your analysis about bikes. Also agree with your inputs on this video except the Honda Hornet 160 as a cruiser part. It is not. Took a 550 km ride on it. It doesn't have power, refinement, stamina, wind protection, or comfort. Maybe I am being harsh but I disliked it to the point asking myself questions like "what is the point of this bike's existence?" (Duke 390 ex owner point of view) I would like your opinion on how R15 is compared to CBR 150 in touring. I think there is a video on it already. Is that why you didn't mention it in this. Feels pertinent because it seems like a tourer. Keep up the good work.
@iamstrell6 жыл бұрын
Sad to hear that bro. I know few Hornet owners who as pretty much satisfied with it for touring. And yes, they all use tall visors. And when it comes to R15 and CBR150, CBR will be comfortable because of the better ergonomics. No doubt.

Both r good bikes. When u go touring. Especially to himalayas... U will feel pain at the back.. R15 v3 gives more pain Cauzz of its commited riding position "its a track bike". But r15s is more relaxing than R15 v3. But when ur want to last ur bike and reach ur destination faster and more efficiently I will say choose R15 v3. But Bro I remind you taking them to the himalayas r very risky cauzz the bike may get damaged couple of times on the way Cauzz it's a proper track bike not a off road bike. Well I choose R15 v3 over r15s

If ninja and Yamaha maintanence cost is same then u can go for ninja .if it's too high u need to go for r3.maintance is not ur priority it's all abt ur choice .in performance r3 is slightly better than ninja but ninja has slipper clutch and all.r3 has metzellers tryes .

It is the best 150 cc bike in the world....Agree?and why one can tour in Hornet 160 and not in 160 4v?

Very refined Engine + Engine Reliability if you clock thousands of kms.. and also ABS.

@@abhinavraj1001 bro but 160 4v is more refined and the reliability is bullshit it's all depends on How u maintain it...

@@Bhattacharya122 Bro I haven't ridden both of them. But from what i have heard and info acquired Hornet 160R is better. I believe hornets engine is smooth. rtr 160v is for fun riding like gixxer. Tvs themself promote rtr series as 'power racing' sort of things. Then you are right about engine reliability it is mostly based on how u maintain. But I would prefer going with 'safe options' rather than giving any chances for benefit of doubts. Yamaha,suzuki,honda -Engine 👌 Btw I am a satisfied Gixxer owner. One of the first buyer of gixxer 155. I was so damn sure that it won't give me any trouble with engines.. here I am 4years still my bike performs like day 1 😊

@@abhinavraj1001 bro Ride a RTR 160 4v and u will immediately notice the difference it pulls better then gixxer or any thing in that segment..and the motor is extremely refined...

Once i had a wish to see the full potential of this bike on that time i think i clocked around the speed of 150 to 153 kmph on the same highway which u were riding.....after sometime when i felt some bumps on the road and i came to normal mode....😂😅😁.....which really scared me out.....😱😱😱
