Great video man! You can definitely tell that you took off about 1.5 seconds 0-60 allowing the car to manually shift past redline. Between my fiancée and I we own a 2008 Si full bolt on/tuned and a stock 2014 r18. For you R18 owners wanting to make more power this is for you. If you have the money, swap a k24 into it. It’s cheaper than a k20 and makes plenty of torque. For you R18 owners wanting to make more power on a budget I would make sure you have a 2010+ model of the R18. Before 2010 they have a bad problem with cracked blocks leading to engine failure. If ya got one of the better years then check it out. The r18s don’t respond to Bolton’s as well as a k20 but it will still make a bit of a difference. Short Ram intake, headers and an exhaust with a high flow cat would make it sound nice a breath a bit better.(keep in mind that the pipe diameter being bigger isn’t always better, it’s all about flow with minimal interference with a suited AF ratio)If you decide to do Bolton’s on an r18 I would highly recommend ecu software like hondata or Kpro to maximize your boltons. Your not going to be making crazy power or feel a massive difference but your car will run smoother and respond better with the basic tools your allowed to adjust with these programs. For you r18 owners that FBo isn’t enough, these engines respond very well to turbo builds and can handle a lot for starting from such low base HP. I’m talking these r18s can handle 300hp without engine internals and without risking engine failure. Super charging is always another option but you will be limited with your power. Let’s say roughly 225-250hp to be safe. Also limited options for a supercharger. Hope this helps you all! Thanks for the video. If anyone has any questions about their build feel free to shoot me a message. All love. ❤️

Hey man I was hoping to get some advice. I have a ‘15 R18 and was looking to get a little more power for daily driving, nothing too crazy. I was planning to go the cheapest route that I can get a tune on my car. For me that would be buying a used Ktuner ($300) and the R18 etune from the etunez website ($220). Is the performance to price ratio worth it? Would I actually be able to feel a difference? I also don’t have a lot of mods, just a CAI and axleback exhaust. Sick turbo build btw👍

It’s definitely worth it! Parts for the r18 are slowly disappearing and it’s kinda sad that finding anything good is nearly impossible. But yes I would definitely do that! That’s what I started with and with fbo and a tune it truly made a world of a difference. I would like to add that if you have a good light wheel setup that will also be best!

@@mobsquad1320When talking about numbers, how much HP/TQ do you think it adds to a stock 9th gen on average? Just looking for a visual before I dive into anything you know haha. Also what exhaust setup are you running with? Thanks for the reply bro! I’ll be sure to look out for the video

You’ll probably gain around 20-30 depending on your setup. And my exhaust is a torxe catback. They have been discontinued as far as I know. And a Megan racing downpipe and it used to be the Megan racing catless header too

Probably does if I’m being honest. The car doesn’t take bolt on upgrades very well typically and sometimes it just makes them slower. Not to mention the wheels I got just looked pretty but they’re heavy as shit lmao. Cars boosted now and runs phenomenal. Forced induction is the only way to get power with these bro

So im just getting into modding my 06 civic and I was wondering if i should get a hondata for it and ask the e-tunez for their maps. When you were shifting did you start on d1 then went into d2 and d3? because I have those options but havent tried doing that was wondering how you were controlling the gears

I have an 08 r18 5 speed manual. What would be a good place to start with tuning it? I don't plan on doing any mods yet besides a full exhaust so after that what tuner you think I should go with? I'm not new to cars but I'm sort of new to tuning so I need some guidance haha
@mobsquad1320
@mobsquad1320 3 жыл бұрын
No problem. So I actually wouldn’t even bother worrying about tuning if you’re only planning on getting an exhaust. It’ll benefit you but not for the price. If you plan on doing fbo then you will get the most out of it by getting hondata. Other than that I would stray away from spending $700 to adjust very minor differences in afr or timing. You won’t really get much. You can have the vtec cam adjusted also though so if you do want to go with tuning I would recommend paying for a professional e tune from e-Tunez.com

Still not great but I’m going to switch back to my stock wheels for this weekend to test them out. I have a big feeling part of the problem was the weight of my aftermarket wheels. It was in the low 17s but it should be in the low to mid 16s now.

Hey man, I’m looking at getting a tune from E-Tunez. My R18 is all motor and it’s just a daily driver for me and I’m just looking for more power. I was wondering what kind of gains you saw with E-Tunez before you put on the turbo. Did you stick with 87 gas or did you tune for 91 or 93? I know it’s not going to be a race car or anything, I just wouldn’t mind a bit more power for the highway and just driving around. Thanks man.
@mobsquad1320
@mobsquad1320 4 жыл бұрын
Hey so it’s actually really worth it for the price. Depending on wjat mods you have of course. Do you have full bolt ons? And yes I always go with the highest octane I can get. It will do you better in the long run! Even before being tuned switching from 87 octane to premium makes a visible difference. The power gains were really awesome actually! You can go watch the other videos I have where I’m doing pulls from one tune to another and you can really see the difference! What mods do you have??

@@mobsquad1320 I have headers, exhaust, intake, and a full set of pulleys. I haven't dynoed the car yet so I don't know what I'm starting with. Did you ever dyno the car before and after the tune without the turbo? I'm just wondering what kind of numbers I can realistically expect with the tune.

So there’s actually not any dynos around here but from feel to feel I know it’s noticeable. Especially with e-tunez it’s pretty inexpensive and you will notice the differences

@@mobsquad1320 Ok cool thanks. That's what I was thinking, for the price it's not bad. I was looking at the skunk2 cam but I've read that people haven't seen any difference unless they're running a turbo.
