The upgrades certainly makes a statement, nutters the lot of you! Very interested in this dsg swap 👏 and canny wait to see what you do with a blank canvas and the wiring.
@TuningShed3 жыл бұрын
I'm looking forward to it to be honest. Having the old loom in the thing was as much of a hinderance, as a blessing. It all works, so you kind of leave it. Now it's all out..... 😂🤦

I can’t wait to see the mini r53 compound charge complete 👏👏👏🙌

Hi Dale, It's been completed for a few weeks. I'm just really really crap with editing stuff for KZbin! I'll get on it over the next couple of weeks. :-)

@TuningShed3 жыл бұрын
@@dalecooper9040 Not masses more, I haven't pushed it too hard yet. Hovering around the 400 mark, full boost from around 2500 from memory.

Added that exact same water pump to my other track car and a PWM controller. It all works very well and it is nice that the pump controller is independent and programmable. Am going to soon do it to the Mini, to clear some space and not have it running off the back of the supercharger. I was wondering where to put it and yes..... of course .... the old A/C pump is a great location. Will need to run some pipes - but that is the easy bit.
@TuningShed3 жыл бұрын
Yeah absolutely, we use them a fair bit in 'proper' customers cars. This is an old one we've pulled off for preventative maintenance. We can control them directly with the ECU we use, so no need for a separate controller.
@edwardgurhy1003 жыл бұрын
@@TuningShed Yes, I realised that only after I had bought the separate controller, that I can / could also control the pump from my ECU. It was a bit late by that point, hay-ho.

Does the dsg fit exactly to spec or you need to cut and add a few bits and bobs ?
@TuningShed Жыл бұрын
I think most of the general outline is in the video, but I've not watched it for a couple of years. But adaptor plate, flywheel, driveshafts, gearbox mount, chassis mods. Essentially.
@fastshiftauto89412 жыл бұрын
Hey bro did u make ur adapter ?
@TuningShed2 жыл бұрын
Hi There, Yes, we used a CMM on both the gearbox and the engine, then drew an adaptor in CAD. We had the adaptor laser cut out of mild steel. If it were a more expensive build, i'd probably get an alluminium adaptor machined from billet honestly.

How do you control the throttle on this car. Did you use the original ecu for that
@TuningShed2 жыл бұрын
Maxxecu does the FBW throttle. OEM ecu is long gone.

Working on a similar build. What model maxx ecu did you use
