R53 Xenon Bulb Install

Works on R50, 2005 MINI, too. Excellent piece of advice, many thanks! As my engine was cool, I put an old blanket under the light and was able to lie at my back comfortably with perfect access and control of the process.

I would like to add this to the video instructions (BTW - great video), if the igniter ejection ring is not lined up properly, the igniter can not be installed. The ejection ring will typically stay in place but if it does move slightly it prevents the locking feature of the igniter to not engage.

Dude, thank you so much for this super simple, detailed illustration of this process. I spent near an hour with some other vague instructions, but 4 minutes into your video I realized the error of my ways , and replaced 2 bulbs in under 15 minutes

I cannot for the life of me get the igniter to screw back in. If I take all the pieces out and just assemble them outside of the headlight they all slot together fine. Going to take the headlight out of the car tomorrow and have another go. I tried for probably 3 hours earlier and just couldn't get them to clip into each other.

Did you figure it out?, mines has different igniters as in the wires don’t eject like that in video but I’m demented with them, they come off easily but just refuse to go back on no matter what I try, I took the other side off to compare it & I can’t get that back on either!! These things are a terrible design!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I had spent hours trying to get these darn lights back in. Couldn't find the right alignment. Then I found your video. Wow. You made it easy. Took only 5 minutes. By they way, I have a 2005 MINI Cooper S and picked up the high intensity lights from undergroundlighting.com/. When I first tried installing my lights they were weak, but once I got them properly seated they rocked with beautiful white light. Thanks for bringing clarity all around
