Hey, the lift is from K&L Tool supply from California. I don't have a video on it but I should make one, I have had a couple of questions about it now. This is a hydraulic lift, with electric power so no air is required.

Mine is a 2017 and the owner's manual says to do it with the kickstand.

Sorry to tell you that you are incorrect. 2017-2020 is the same process just like 2006-2016 was. As per the service manual... 1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface "Tip" - Place the vehicle on a suitable stand so that the rear wheel is elevated. (This means NOT on the kickstand) 2. @@CHRGITUP the owner manual that I have I got it from the internet, supposedly is for the 2017 yamaha r6. Do you know where can I see right owner's manual?

Honestly you may have the correct manual sometimes the manufacturer uses the same manuals for different bikes. I have the original owners manual on hand. It's weird Step 1. Place the motorcycle on the side-stand. Then the "Tip" portion it states "when checking and adjusting, there should be no weight on the motorcycle " 😆 makes no sense, however, this is really to just check the slack. Adjusting it the rear wheel should be off the ground. The part # for the original owners manual is BN6-28199-73, see if the one off the internet has a number listed somewhere. I personally go by either the service manual or what I have been taught over the years.
