Just got back from seeing the new remastered one. This was my first SMG4 video. The old ones have a certain charm to them--all the crappy choppiness/glitchiness/lower quality/etc. just makes it even funnier--but seeing everything SMG4's become now really makes me appreciate how hard he works to entertain us. The new smoother animations take even more effort. Thank you SMG4.

SMG4 works better without a strict plot. I will always prefer these videos as oppose to the newer videos, not that I hate the guy personally, it's just that these ones are purely done for comedy whilst the new ones are mainly for story which doesn't really work when your universe consists of things not making sense. It is really hard to create stakes for this world so having the videos just be made for comedy works a lot better and less for story telling would work a lot better. Personally, the Splatoon chick and the blue hair lesbian girl are my main gripes as far as the main cast goes as they are meant to be taken seriously which just doesn't work when you have a universe that can allow for the Teletubbies to kidnap the main character and force him to watch their show. They also feel flat as you can tell SMG4 wanted them to be likable and important as Meggy is meant to be a hardend badass who don't need no man and the lesbian hair chick is just meant to be quirky and that's it. This wouldn't be an issue if there wasn't a plot and they weren't an integral part of it. Anyway rant over, go away now.

That was one of the most iconic videos. And I remember that this one was very scary when I was little, especially when it's Mario who is the stalking entity. That's crazy to think that he got so much improvement over the years. Mario was way less stupid, the videos were just collaboration with other youtubers's Mario like Enzo or others, the story and characters were random. Some of us misses those good old times (the present is still good too) But this is what makes them good : it comes from our childhood.
