I'm new to your channel but really enjoyed this particularly the more 'technical' commentary from Neil.

That looked like a fairly bumpy day. I did a Luton zone transit earlier this year, hoping to improve my radio work. When I chopped to their frequency I thought the radio had failed, it was that quiet. Sadly didn't learn much. Still think the 66 start start procedure is quicker than a 44.

Hi, the frictions add some resistance to the cyclic and collective controls to stop them moving unintentionally when you are on the ground. For example so you can remove your hand from the collective lever to input a radio frequency before lift-off without worrying that it may move on its own (which is a possibility on some helicopters!).
