I love how after you touched down you told Kat she was drifting. I imagine Kat's instincts were like "Wait, I landed. It should stop moving. Oh right, water."

I noticed recently you have the audio rigged into your hand held GoPro as well. So are you sending com audio into each of the GoPros now? If so how are you splitting the signal to be able to get audio to each GoPro? I’ve found syncing up my 3 gopros in my heli is hard and it would be so easy if they all shared the same audio. Would love to hear what you’ve figured out in this regard. Keep up the awesome videos! I’m 35hours into my private pilot training and filming the entire process (both) in large part because of your inspiration!

Helicopters are inherently unstable on water because of their high center of gravity. Full power down landing on water when its not an emergency would not be smart.

Does Transport Canada allow the operator to re-pack them? What cirt process do operators have to follow if you're allowed to reset skid floats or is it just an AMM that one of your A&Ps follows, then signs off in the book? I would imagine there's at least an RII sign off, or the Canadien equivalent? Sweet video, never seen rotorcraft floats deployed before.

Do you have to inflate the floats while you are flying? Could you have inflated them while the R-66 was on the ramp or in the hangar? I have inflated floats on Jet Rangers. The white substance coming from the floats is talcum powder used to prevent moisture from deteriorating the bags due exposure to rain or snow. Once they were inflated we had to leave them inflate for a very certain period of time to ensure that they didn’t have any leaks. If none were found, or once they were repaired, repacking the bags was the hardest part of the job.

@@TimToussaint Nice comment, very helpful. No real comment, i guess? No thoughts on what i wrote, i guess? Sure, for safety reasons, this this and that. BUT!!!! You also do not need another muffler every 1000 miles. Certain aspects are there to make money, dont you think? Or do you actually think it is all there for safety? Such a device as shown in the video could even be malfunctioning right after you bought it. Only way to know is to "blow it" Isnt it? Or can you be sure that it will work right after you installed it, a brand new device i mean.
@bertjesklotepino3 жыл бұрын
@@TimToussaint with rotor blades or engine parts, sure, i would agree. BUT, these are things that are not always used. You dont see him fly with these every day. SO to blow them after 3 years, because it must be done.... You dont replace your airbags in your car ever 3 years, do you? SO why not stop hating me, and actually respond? PS: I say hating because of reasons. Certain people think explosives go bad over time. And we still blow up WW2 bombs with other bombs, just incase. Anyways, another discussion al together. BUT, in this case, they are air bags, right? You dont replace em in your car every so many years. And, mr Pilot on this channel does not always fly with them. SO: They arent always used. So. They are on the shelve. So. Why would you make people blow them up every so many years? Why not replace the charge every so many years? Plus, why rely on old stuff in emergencies? WHy have people pay for that, every so many years? Its a money scheme, is all it is. If it was really about safety, other thoughts might have popper up. like: Never use a 3 year old bunch of equipment in the first place. But, who is to say the 3 year old stuff will malfunction? I hope my airbags will work after 10 years. Experience has shown they do.

@@bertjesklotepino I agree, from an owner’s perspective some of these mandatory calendar items seem like a money making scheme. It’s always easy (for the regulator, or the manufacturer) to err on the side of caution, as it is not them who pay for it.
