That's what a motorcycle video should be like. No stupid thrash metal / techno rap / country rebel (del as applicable) background music. No boring as crap commentary. Just a steady and well positioned camera, a long real world ride, and the only music we need to hear - the roar of the engine and flowing wind shouting freedom. Love the WG, no heavy crap tinsel, and lots of relatively agile fun.

I was born in 1960 and grew up in the 70's with two-stroke MX race bikes Susukis, Hondas and Yamahas. I even had two-stroke street bikes, All during this time my Dad was always trying to get me to ride his Harley but, didn't want anything to do with it! I told him, I only liked two-stroke bikes because they were fast and that when I got older I was going to buy a Ferrari. He told me by the time I could afford a Ferrari I wouldn't want one. I did own 3 Porches though. He finally sold his Harley in 1983 and bought a Honda Magna which he only drove 2000 miles before letting it collect dust in the garage for years before selling it. He said his Honda Magna was smooth fast and refined but it didn't sound like a Harley, wake the neighbors, shake or excite him when he rode it, he said it was too refined. I don't want that Ferrari now because I'm 63 and am having way to much fun riding my 2012 Wide Glide. I love my Wide Glide and I will never sell it! My "Wife" has a M8 2017 Harley Tri-Glide Ultra and its really nice but, it is two nice and doesn't get my heart going like my Wide Glide!

I remember watching your dyna video several years ago Chris and it was great today rediscovering it and watching it again after all these years. Very enjoyable. No talking or voice over. Just the sound of the bike and feeling like I was out there on the interstate experiencing the ride with you. So I'll save it this time so I can revisit it again. I'm sure many viewers would have gone on to buying their own dyna after watching this. Thanks for the upload buddy.

So simple as only the view of the ride. Perfect!!!! You nailed it! No phone, No GPS, No radio, No soundtrack, but most importantly there are no distractions. The best psychiatrist or any medicine could not compare to the peacefulness and comfort of riding free on a Harley. I just wish I could purchase a Harley on my medical flexible VISA card from work. lol Great job! Simplicity at its finest.

I thoroughly enjoyed your video! as a new rider contemplating what it will be like on longer runs than a few minutes, it was great to see you ride in the different scenarios - neighborhood, moving fast streets with lights, and a bit of highway... just wish a Rudy's BBQ stop would have been in there somewhere :) I like your setup that you used for the camera too! plenty of video with going into higher gears... I couldn't really tell when you might have down-shifted though.

Nice - love my Switchback - easy to pop off windshield and bags - go for the sporty look. I've been thinking about throwing a set of leather bags over the back just to get that old school look (I'm 63) - you know - switch back and forth between the hard cases and the leather to suit my riding plans. What was that car ...at first I thought it was a Lamborghini - then at the stop light looked like ...I don't know. Was cool though.

@pizzasubs5 жыл бұрын
do apologize for asking these questions cause Im not actually never been a motorcyclist, so If I may ask, this bike has twin gas tanks right one on each side of the speedometer, then what is that directly undernieth the speedometer, and unless I totally missed it, when you shifted the bike, you do it with your right hand correct, only because I didnt actually see you actually grab the clutch handle with your right hand.....and last question if I may please, unless its built into the speedometer, where is the fuel gauge located on the bike, Thank you for a FANTASTIC ride......
@mvol59735 жыл бұрын
Andrew Silva it has one tank, the cap on the right is the filling port the one on the left is fake but contains a fuel gauge. Shifting is done by squeezing the clutch on the left handlebar and using the shift lever on the left attached to the transmission

@ChrisThompsonM10 жыл бұрын
They are both pretty much the same bike. The wide glide is little longer by inches because of the longer forks and bigger degree in the rake. Just depends on which look you like better.

I have always loved harley davidson and the sound it will put out. I'm only 17 right now, but I have been really wanting a Harley Davidson sense I was way young just because the sound and the way they look. So when I can afford to buy one of these bikes, me only being 5'9 5'10 was just wondering what type of bike would best fit me if anyone can provide information. I really like the Street bobs but don't know if it would fit me. If anyone could help.
@Izzyforeverlace8chrome9 жыл бұрын
Im 19 6foot for me i started on a 883sportster great bike to learn from,height is not really an issue on a harley because you can get standard pegs or get a sporster superlow made for shorter people.You wont have an issue being 5'10
@doby1231239 жыл бұрын
Isabel Porzio I had looked at an 883 at a potential fire bike sense a lot people have said its a good bike to first learn on. I'm hoping to get my first bike this summer, sense i'll be 18 and graduated out of school. Sense i'll be able to apply for a loan, and the payments might not be that bad just depends but if not this summer then i'll definetly get one next summer... can't wait to finally buy a motorcycle
@ChrisThompsonM9 жыл бұрын
Fordftw2005 I'm 5'10 also and this wide glide fits perfect for me. Like Isabel Porzio said, Harley's are probably the easiest to customize. The best way I think to find a good fit is to go to a dealership and sit on a bunch of different bikes. I also admire you for getting a Harley as your first bike! I started with a crotch rocket (Yamaha R6). It was fun at first but got old and traded it in for my Harley. I just paid mine off after 2 years. Worth every penny no regrets. :)

oo yea I love Harley and always have sense I was young. Probably because my dad just rags all the other bikes haha, if its not a harley my dad is the least bit interested haha. Whats the difference between a superglide and wideglide
@103wideglide8 жыл бұрын
The wide glide has wider front forks for a more sturdy ride and there is more rake to to the forks than that of a super glide, which gives the rider a lower seat height and more laid back riding position
@wolfsoldier51056 жыл бұрын
How are the brakes? I'm considering buying this bike and I hear the brakes suck...
@ChrisThompsonM6 жыл бұрын
Wolfsoldier You are correct. The brakes are absolute crap. Most other bikes have wider front tire and dual front brake calipers. This one has a super skinny front tire and only 1 brake caliper which equates to horrible braking.
@wolfsoldier51056 жыл бұрын
Youd think they would want to fix that as brakes are kind of important...lol...Do they even have a way to upgrade them?
