As a Victorian I really struggle to see one of ‘our’ loco’s re-gauged and in NSW. If only those NSW people hadn’t betrayed us and honoured their undertaking to be ‘Broad-Gauge’. 😜

Great Loco BUT!!…Why has the R’s distinctive steel pilot been removed?? It spoils the look of the loco. All the most impressive steam locos have pilots…GB and NSW missed out. Imagine how much better 3801 would be with the streamlined pilot of the New Haven Railroad Hudsons on which it’s looks were based or how much more massive the D57c or AD60 might have appeared. Please put it back and get rid of those silly little BR tongs.
