Australian steam locomotives 3001, 3526, 3801 & R766 - Thirlmere Festival of Steam - March 2023

Decades ago if You had of said to their respective state owners, that 3801 and R766 would be lashed up together to work a train on NSW standard gauge metals,…..I think they would have near committed You to the railway nut house 😂👍…….but what a sight to see in 2023, nice footage Bev 👍

There are heaps of spots both north and south of the station. You just need to follow the track to find them.

Amazing work as always, guys! Would’ve loved to have been there myself, especially to see R766 and 3001. Out of interest which external audio mic do you use? I use the camera's mic. It protrudes far enough out of the main body to enable me to fit a high quality wind sock over it.

Hi Caleb, Sony made a good budget priced stereo shotgun mic if you can find one? I use a Audio Technica stereo shotgun , but it will cost you a grand....but it's a fabulous mic! You could try the "Rode" camera mic but they are not a true shotgun style. Gregg :_)
