I recently replaced the timing kit in a r9m engine. The locking pin for the crankshaft was on the left side, behind the ac compressor. Renault trafic ll 2007 model.

New . But he put the old bolt on crankshaft. I like all videos bay the way.

It should be hidden behind the starter motor. I believe some mechanics don't bother with it because it's a pain to reach.

He, It depends if you recognize noise from the timing chain or in the matter you have to open the engine. Based on the mileage of the car it makes sense to replace timing chain. Your Elring Service Team

Hello, First of all thanks for the great instruction video. I have one question : are the R9M & OM626 both exactly the same? I am asking this question because my Mercedes needs a new engine and there are not that much offers of a revision OM626 engine. For the R9M there are a lot of offers. As far as I can see it its only the adapter to get the Mercedes automatic transmission fitted that is different then at the R9M engine of Renault. I am looking forward to your answer! Hey, they are created in the same platform so the main parts are identical like block / head etc. More details you have to compare by yourself. 😉👍

Hallo Wabufan, Sinnlos? Nein, wir haben uns schon Gedanken zum Video gemacht. Bei einem Motor der von Renault und Mercedes verwendet wird, gibt es unterschiedlich Werksangaben. Dazu werden DIN Schrauben immer mit einem bekannten Drehmoment angezogen. Um hier keine Diskussionen in die eine oder andere Richtung aufkommen zulassen, haben wir uns wie in allen anderen Videos für KEINE Werte entschieden. Beste Grüße dein Erling Service Team
