what I see unfortunately is that all the angularity, corners, drama and attitude of 90% of the music presented at this tribute has been sanded off into lazy, jam grooves. Why I LOVE JEFF SO MUCH is that even though he was 78, those qualities are what defined him and he never lost them or settled "gracefully" into "old age" He never phoned it in. Every show was like it was his first show, filled with fire, danger and true in the moment inspiration, desperation, destruction etc.... FOREVER YOUNG.....:D

The loss of the great Jeff Beck must be so hard for Johnny. They were brothers, so close. Jeff was a down to earth, extremely loyal friend to Johnny and all round nice guy. Both of them were great admirers of the great John Lennon and his compositions and music. Lennon could say so much in a song, a true genius and was brutally honest man NOT afraid to speak out, millions of us really appreciated this mighty genius and his ‘shocking statements” at that time. This Lennon song is so very apt for what Johnny is and was going through.

I know this cause my daughter is the same way at 34yrs., she started when she was in 5th grade wanted her to go to gifted classes, I said she has to see what she's all about . Sorry but totally disagree. When you have Pioneers of the guitar on stage such as Clapton, Gibbons, Wood, etc. paying tribute to one of the Big Three of the Yardbirds there is no room for an amateur to be performing with Monsters of the guitar! Depp should know that and leave the professionals to do the honoring of a pioneer. Jeff Beck was a great man and took Depp in his home as a friend. Unfortunately, that's it!! Pay your respects to your friend by announcing each legendary guitarist as they honor JB as only they know how to do it. Please stop riding the coattails of The Late Great Yardbird by thinking you should be up there on stage with greatness surrounding you everywhere! Know what your role is to honor your friend. Just plain embarrassing!!
