Raag Jhinjhoti - Beautiful Night Raga - Madhyalaya

This is a rendition of Raag Jhinjhoti in Madyalaya set to Teen taal (16 bts). This raga is a very popular one in Indian classical and film music. It is an evening/night raga which is very beautiful to hear and has some folk touches to it. It is very similar to Harikamboji of carnatic music.

Thank you for the reply. Santoor is such a lovely instrument. I am happy that you have done it in such a way that it sounds real santoor. Electronics is incredible. Pt.ji is a favourite of mine too. Happy you declared that you ve been inspired by him. If possible play jalatarangam on keyboard - it is another sweet instrument. I really wonder how keyboard has got in itself several sound-types incorporated. Lastly, "Imitation is the best form of flattery". This music a way of adoring pt.ji. Kudos.

Some Keyboard Makers like Roland are known for creating sounds which are authentic, while this particular piece is played on Korg, I am unable to tell if the real santoor was used...................It is quite possible that Korg does have authetic sounding santoor too.
