This is the epitome of toxic relationship, but I believe it was intentional and the creators didn't want the movie to be portrayed as a romantic movie anyways. I think that's the point. Nobody got their happy ending. It feels more like Achilles heel than a sincere love story. For example, Kundan died because he couldn’t let go of his Obsession. Zoya got screwed because she couldn't let go of her Resentment. Though I agree, the ICU scene where zoya is sitting next to Kundan feels a bit out of place.
