I think mutating spinos also has another benefit; the side products, all those useless high level spino babies that cant be used in breeding. Just kill those to level up your other creatures, since spino gives much more exp than rex does

The best combo will always be One or two Yutys and an army of Rexes, Reapers and Shadowmanes can replace the rexes easily but they are way harder to get (and I actually don't know if reapers are allowed in every boss, cause there is nothing stronger honestly) Everyone knows therizinos are a good alt, so are spinos and megatheriums for the broodmother with the buffs, rockdrakes and megalosaurus for rockwell of course As for underdogs, I'd say allos, deinoneichus, velonosaurs. Basilisks maybe? If they are allowed I'm sure they must be crazy strong against bosses, but they are big so you probably can't bring as many.

I know next to nothing about mutations and how to tell what points are in what stats and all that, but i enjoy the videos like this that you put out. Mantis grabbed by Karkinos is one of the Ultimate combos , both are on my favourite list 🤍 But shadowmane deserves the 1st place more than giga, actually Giga is only useful in PvP and Extinction, other than that it cannot be teleported to any boss , including Genesis missions, unlike Shadowmane, and cannot explore water and even land due to its terrible stamina and doesn’t really possess something special other than massive damage that’s only useful for PvP, what do you say guys ?

I have to agree which is why I was surprised it was #1. It doesn't have as much utility as the others. I think that the rex or shadowmane are more fitting of the number one spot due to the amount of utility that they have. Also, I figured that few people would actually use the giga due to its rage mechanic. Granted, it's been a while since I used one. I hated having the thing stub its toe or drop off a tiny ledge only to throw me off just to kill me and go on a rampage.

I think the shadowmane is better than the giga because of its alt attack if you mutate it it can do INSANE damage I’ve got a stack of 20 mutations and it can do 16000 damage without mate boost of water boost or courage roor

I like mutating and breeding argy. I use them for boss fight vs desert titan solo and for queen wyvern. Good saddle on...and a bunch of them and in less than 5 min the desert titan is down. Plus argy is super good in caves if flying is allowed. Thanks to his healing skill and powerful attack, makes some caves super easy.

Yea i was surprised how they were also barely hurt from alpha crystal wyvern queen. I mean they were all mutated and imprinted with boosted imprint effects and leveled, but i still expected to lose a few but no. Most hurt one lost like 7k hp from 50k(didn't expect them to have that much either but sh#t maybe i should lower the imprint effect, mutations and all points being split between hp and melee helped tho). Rexes took the brunt tho. I brought 8 rexes, 9 argys, 1 daeodon, 1 yuty and myself flew a trope that was way too quick for the fight (have flier speed upgrade enabled so obviously i put a ton into the jet of ark to make it more like a jet)

@@pizzafria8877 depending on the cave, I’d say go for it! I can clear most of the easier caves no problem with a wild-tamed bary-granted, he does have over 200 levels. I haven’t gone through some of the harder caves yet, but they should do just fine for them, too.

Its honestly not as hard as it used to be with the cryopods now, just bring some Yutyrannus, they are the best by far, purlovias in this cave are annoying as shit on anything that drops you off to the ground when dismounted, so forget allos mostly (maybe as unridden, its ok but not mounted) rexes and spinos can't pass most tunnels, so forget those, I might forget what exists in the game but I can only recommend the yutyrannus, I remember trying this cave with my friend, we both were on really strong thylas (imprinted lvl 340) we managed to get the artifact, but god damn was it annoying, we had no armour by the end of it and rushed back up, it was the longest hour of my life

@@s8theninjawarrior916 I like rexs more than yutys, taming yutys has always been the worst tame in my opinion, and I couldn’t even tell you why. I just don’t like it. Rexs don’t agro most purlovias, and if they do you stay on the saddle anyways. Plus you can make them super tangy, and I only ever need to cryo them once, at the one I’ve tunnel, which is where the Allos come into play. That’s why I wanted that top ten, cause I figure people may have different ideas on how to do it.

@@Spiney09 i think you feel this waybecause yutys spawn in a sh#tholes on the island, the ground is always uneven and rocky, often they have fallen down somewhere chasing something as you build the trap. On crystal isles yuty taming was very easy tho because the ground was level so making a trap close by facing it is easy. Scortched was pretty simple too for me because desert under the steep mountain was flat so luring it in a simple trap is easy. I prefer yutys for the cave myself because i can scare enemies making them take extra and deal reduced damage, yuty is also easier to manuver since imprinted rexes are faster than nornal but turn just as badly.

@@damnsonwheredyoufindthis.3830 honestly I prefer Spinos to either of them, as they have good damage and excellent maneuvering (they can turn in place, better than Rexs or Yutys) but they don’t fit in the cave!!! I know that from trying since I posted this, not just assuming. As for yutys, you’re probably right. The net gun on Gen 2 makes Yutys trivially easy to tame, but even still I’m not a fan. They just feel more fragile to me, even if they really aren’t.

honestly... i feel like stryders kind of make other non-corpse harvesters obsolete. especially with the super structures mod, because its uplink can just send everything straight to dedi. EDIT: can confirm, i bred shadowmanes on my SP and i feel like ive beaten the game already with only like half the bosses done. single player buffs seem quite insane tho... I solo'd (as in using just 1 tame) manticore and only used 2 'manes when i beat rockwell this week. Extinction next... i am expecting king titan to be more difficult.

I know I want 0 in food, movement speed, and oxygen. But I think 0 in weight might be less than adequate for a rider. So what should points in weight be in your opinion?

Love to see the giga at the top! I only play singleplayer and it’s my first time ever playing after watching ppl play forever. I played on the easiest difficulty bc I was scared. But I managed to tame a level one male giga and then a while later, a female! Idk how to mutate and will find that out but I’ve just been breeding them ever since. My base is on The Island map near the red obelisk on the piece of land sticking out and I have so much GIGAS I’m starting to put them near the forest! They are just so strong! I really love the giga but I would stick more to a Rex because Gigas can rage and That's not good for me I would rather use them for leveling my tames instead of use the Gigas for fights

I mean, I guess? But gigas have such a massive advantage when it comes to power that rexes simply can't compete. An imprinted giga has more health and damage than the vast majority of boss-grade rexes. Gigas have all their levels invested in melee and their base melee damage is almost 10 times that of the rex. Rexes have to be leveled in health to not get crushed in a fight which means they have fewer levels put into melee. On top of that, each level that is put into melee gives a smaller damage increase than it would for a giga. If you tamed a wild 150 rex it would end up with around 8000 health on average. If fully imprinted that would be just under 10k. The health of *any* fully imprinted giga is going to be around 34-36k, regardless of level. In order to get an average rex to the health as an average giga, you would need to invest ~44 levels into health. That's 44 levels that could be going into melee if you were using a giga. The only advantages a rex has over a giga are numbers and a tek saddle, both of which are good in most fights but next to useless against a giga.

Gigas I just wouldn’t bother mutating honestly as they only do one thing, hit hard, nothing else..much better to mutate up a more versatile dino that could probably wreck a giga, or mutate up something that can travel well like the shadowmane (very good mount, I’d rather have a group of those). Plus finding high level Gigas with good stats is just a pain..rough journey to mutate them.

If you're playing PvE and not doing anything tough like hunting alpha rexes or the like then, sure, rexes are fine. But when it comes to actually fighting anything, a rex simply cannot compete with a giga and anyone that knows what they're talking about would say the same. A mediocre giga with full imprint can easily take on a group of high-tier rexes with full imprint. Gigas are just that much more powerful. And good luck getting your rexes out of their pods and organized in time to fight an alpha rex if one finds your base.

I actually took the time to locate and tame some high level shadowmanes ( a nightmare btw) but I was looking for something like this because the breeding was pretty fun although I have a ton of extras now that weren’t exactly perfect

Tough call. Maewing for speed. Drake for mobility if it requires a lot of scaling

Me personally think the rock Drake is better because there decent cave explorers and ur bound to face up with dangers along the way and it might not be as speeding as the maewing but it's fast enough if that makes sence
