Zippers quality is very important. 2 way zippers and pitzips, properly adjustable hood and cuffs also very important to me.

Just purchased this jacket after watching this video , going to use it for walking the dog on the hills & for when I’m playing golf as I suspect it will be more waterproof than a golf jacket , I don’t really like wearing 2 pairs of trousers what would you recommend in that department?

It’s proved a good jacket 👍🏻 The best winter trouser bar none (IMO), is the Paramo Cascada Analogy Waterproof trousers ☺️ I do a review of the originals 🤔 I use them in many mountain vids (and also the Enduro, which I also review 😋)- Enjoy your outdoors time. Andy 🌧️🏔️🌀

Hey mate good video enjoyed watching it. What size was the jacket you had on? I’m usually a large in Rab but have heard these fit big? Also have you had any experience with the Rab Kangri?

Hi, glad you enjoyed the review ☺️ It was a large and fits well- I am 6ft and medium build- its well tailored and has room for layers etc. Would say for rabbles they fit big, (but its always hard to give fit advice as its very subjective)- Never tried the Kangri. Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

How do you like the Goretex Pro, too loud and stiff? Is The Whole jacket 70D or just the higher wear areas? What is the denier of the rest? How is the DWR so far? Wet out to soon? Have you found a great DWR yet, or is it a apply every couple months, due to the removal of chemicals that make the DWR last?

Most hard shells suffer from noise and stiffness in my experience- the softer face fabrics seem to suffer from wetting out quicker, I have some theories why, but its beyond my fabric knowledge at present- even if you had a longer lasting DWR than presently available any hard shell would still need regular washing, as the microporous holes will still block and the DWR will become coated with dirt, that would mask its effect, especially in high ware areas- Nikwax recommends regular washing and less reproofing for this reason, and in my experience I would agree with that. There is resistance to washing coats, but if washing will damage a coat, it was already broken! 😉 Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy 🏕⛰
