OMG! I was at this speech! I see my best friend in the audience in this video! I got to meet R. Kahane at the Hillel; it was the first time I'd ever seen a Jew stand up for Jews, and it was also the first time I learned about the Jewish Establishment, its ignorance, and its dishonesty. I did go to Israel and learn in yeshiva. A week after he gave this speech, R. Kahane was murdered by a Palestinian Arab in New York City. May his memory be for a blessing.

Arafat and the PLO charter was aided by the Soviets and the far-left only support the Pali Arabs just because Israel wasn't going to align fully with the USSR and Soviet Jews leaving in droves going to Israel which the Soviets didn't like. Abbas (head of the PA) received an education in the former USSR so it tells a whole lot. The far-left and Islamists have mutual use of one another but truly aren't ideologically aligned.
