Yes, they can be very destructive. I’ve seen rabbits under the hoods of vehicles eating the wires. Just the other day I was changing the air filter on a truck and at first I thought that it was a really dirty air filter when I pulled the tubing back but nope, it was a rabbit. It would’ve had to jump up on the tire then snake it’s way through the pipe leading to the air filter.

Just to help people out, and since I'm an Englishwoman, I'd like to offer the following translation: 'hood' in English English is a folding roof for a car; 'hood' in American English is the cover of a motor-car engine, which is called is called a bonnet in English English. I take it that the chap is referring to the latter definition of 'hood' in his post. Moreover, 'tire', as regards a rubber ring round a wheel rim, is the American English spelling of tyre, which is the English English spelling. Hope this was of interest. ❤xx

Rabbits can do a surprising amount of damage, and they frequently thrive in predator-less human made ecosystems. The old school methods of hunting with animals are really cool. When i was younger the rabbits in my area were so out of hand they were eating painted siding on my families house.

4 rabbits equal 1 sheep on how much they eat in a day so the rabbits are taking away grass that the horses eat and cost the owner more money in having to bring in hay which doesnt give the horse the same nutrients. Rabbit goes back into the food chain great to eat good for the ferrets and dogs too

@Bert Clarke A good rabbiting terrier is worth it's weight in gold, mark the holes to let you know there's rabbits at home then sit back out of the way waiting for the rabbits to bolt, and when it's busy hold them in the net, you never see them for sale because if you have one you keep it, i've had them that ignore rabbits when working to ground but that can be a problem, no one wants to dig down 6 foot to a rabbit.
@hetrodoxlysonov-wh9oo4 жыл бұрын
@Bert Clarke I was a professional terrier man for most of my life, inherited my dads terriers who inherited them from his father, i was area rep for the FMWTC, i've had to clear rabbits as part of my job which is a real pain without a good dog, i lived through the best years of terrier work when it was all legal, took more in a season than most took in a lifetime.
