Rabbit Hunt with a Henry .410 Lever Action Shotgun

Boy nobody could ever tell me rabbit hunting isn't one of the greatest joys in life. I'm 62 and I miss my hunting more then anything . It's not my age but pain that stops me. Even after I became paralyzed I still went till I couldn't. Nothing like a couple beagles a buddy or two nice brisk morning and it's about the best it gets. I started with a 410 killed my first rabbit on a dead run one shot. It was a borrowed gun and I sure wish I could still have it just for the memories. An old bolt action Stevens or savage but it shot true to its point. Just wish I could do it all again. God bless the Henry gun company. Ill never be able to afford the lever shotgun but I'd surely love it.

Looks like you had a great day hunting some Wabbit!! Those Henry 410's look like they handle nicely! I remember seeing them when I came over to get that concrete mixer. You had just opened them. Bush hog you a few paths through there and it will be better hunting. Keep up the good videos. Enjoy watching them.

What shells are you using? 2 3/4 or 3inch? And what size shot?

The Henry is for a 2.5 inch chamber only. Doesnt take 3 inch shells, as for a 2.75 inch shell, most of those are designed for use with the Taurus Judge and S&W Governor and might not work properly if at all in this firearm. I wish Henry had made a 3 inch chamber for this gun as it really allows you to get the most out of your .410 for whatever your purpose.

Will this have a 2 shell limiter? My state is only allowed 3 shells in the shotgun to hunt.

ted x you could probably make one yourself. I think I’ve seen a few videos here on KZbin showing you how. Thankfully I live in a state that’s pretty lenient. Only need a limiter for waterfowl.

Quit making these videos! I bought a Henry H010 45-70 a couple of years ago, and now, even though my bills have gotten higher, you're making me want a .410 shotgun to go with it. I don't need one! Maybe for squirrel, but I have a Benelli 20, or a Marlin 22 for that. But, damn, that Henry .410 lever-gun is just as gorgeous as my 45-70, and would go with it so well. I bet it shoots sweet, too. A pox on you!

High visibility orange is required in a lot of states for hunter safety. It's also something most animals can't see.
