I am glad she is feeling better. My bunny girl had GI Stasis a few weeks ago of course on a holiday when her vet was closed. Tummy rubs did not work for her and her belly become bloated very quickly. Luckily I found an exotic only vet (specializes in species like bunnies) that was running emergency visits for the day and was able to get her in. She ended up have to be anesthetised and have a tube put down her mouth to her stomach to remove as much food and fluid they could to relieve the pressure and give her subcutaneous fluids, gut motility meds and meds for pain. They had to send her home with me for the night and then I brought her back the following day to spend the whole day with them to monitor her close and give her more fluids. Thankfully she recovered fully by that evening. Very scary to have your bunny fine and eating all day, go to bed and wake 8 hours later to find her not wanting breakfast. She had never had issues before. she is 5.5 years old. Vet was like it is never a problem until it is. So glad you are always watching carefully. Glad your bun recovered nicely.

Thank goodness she didn't go into total GI stasis. Hair is a real problem this time of year and not by strange coincidence, one of my lionhead girls has just gone through the same thing. Two days ago she stopped eating and just wanted to lay motionless in her little house which is next to my bed. After a few massages all was well and last night she resumed normality... eagerly awaiting supper and biscuits ! Please give your two little long-ears big hugs for me. Bye for now. 🐰🐰

Yes, I’m so glad it was resolved just by tummy massage. I do keep infant simethicone and critical care just in case, but thankfully we didn’t have to use them. I’m sorry your bunny had to go through that too, and glad she recovered!! For people who don't know, when bunnies stop eating it's called GI Stasis. Bunnies can die because their gut always needs to be moving. CB's mama is good for noticing CB's signs. It always scared me to death when my bunnies wouldn't take a biscuit. I've had many veterinarian visits with my buns bc of GI Stasis.

You might want to try just feeding your guy the basics and eliminate the extras: just organic no soy pellets according to weight, 1-2 cups veg (look up your vet's approved list) depending on weight and hay..most important. There are so many KZbinrs (who, like me are just bun owners) showing them giving large portions of fruit and packaged snacks for bunnies which give viewers the notion that these things are great for them. They are treats and unnecessary for a bun's diet. You may also try baby gas drops. I comb Baby a little every day so that I do not have to do a lot of it which Baby is not fond of instead of doing it weekly. Ask your vet!

VERY IMPORTANT LIFE -SAVING TIP FOR ALL BUNNY OWNERS! When our bunny was about one year old, he got gastro intestinal stasis. GI stasis is a very common and dangerous condition bunnies get from all the fur they ingest, and it can be fatal 😮 ! The emergency vet told us to give him a little bit of fresh pineapple every day - not canned or dried, just fresh. Fresh pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that helps break down the fur bunnies ingest while grooming. We started giving our bunny a daily treat of pineapple (about 1/8 of a ring), and he never got GI stasis again. He passed away two summers ago at the age of 13 😢💖🐇💖❤

That’s an interesting video because just recently the exact same thing has happened with two of my bonded pairs that were shedding a lot. I know they don’t feel good during shedding season, but this year has been worse than usual for some reason. They briefly stopped eating and refusing treats and laying flat. But then it would clear up after a few hours. Fortunately it was only one of the pair and the other mates provided support. I sure did worry though.

You have to be really careful with bunnies if they get gastrointestinal stasis, they can die very quickly. You have to get Critical Care and feed them with a tube feeder to keep their gut moving or they can get toxic very quickly. Their diet should be 90 percent hay. If you give them too many other treats it can change the flora in their gut and cause major issues.

The crazy thing is once the eating of hay starts, Baby enjoys it!!

Cynamon wyczesuj często bo MORTY ja czyści i może za dużo sierści dostać się do jego pyszczka ja wolę jak Cynamon jest głodna nawet wtedy gdy przed chwilą dałaś jej jeść.Pamietaj że króliczek nie może nie jeść przez cały dzień pies może ale nie królik bo ma mocne kwasy żołądkowe ale napewno to wiesz ........................

Staram się ją często szczotkować, kiedy mi na to pozwala. Ona zrzuca więcej niż Morty. Ja też wolę, kiedy ona jest zawsze głodna! 😄🐰🥬

it's very scary when a rabbit won't take a treat that they'd normally gobble up. mine had gi stasis once and he hid under a table for hours, refusing to eat. glad cb is better! listening to the chewing noises was such a relief after the gi scare and i feel the same hearing cb eat. 🥹
