I was wondering how you snared those rabbits out in the field, I recently bought snares myself and im looking for tips. Great video, cheers.

Wow, didn't know rabbits made sounds. Somewhat horrifying, but that's life. Guess you get used to it. Are the snares checked every day? How long can a rabbit stay on a snare till it's considered inedible?

Feral rabbits are classed as invasive pests who destroy crops world wide costing billions, and like pigeons in the uk, they get culled for controlled breeding to lessen the damage they do, and if u read "TheHuntingLife " comments below his video you will see they are doing it for just that reason, and if they make a stew out of them, then its a bonus, great video:)

@flamedrag18, Ah right, so is he putting them next to warren entry holes in the field?
@eapc4415 жыл бұрын
Snaring is a art and you only get good with practice and a expert showing you. I have spoken to the likes of Glenn waters and warreners. Drying on a wire fence is quite easy try getting on there main runs out to the feeding grounds bit Harder old boy no room for error from pest controler Suffolk

Not a clue, sorry, i do not have any experience with snaring but im sure there will be websites you can look for info, i use a .22LR when im rabbiting :), it allows precision shots at longer ranges but snaring is another option i may decide upon some point.

What are you doing to kill the rabbit by hand? Does it take a lot of strength?
@UltraHawke113 жыл бұрын
did you make the hole in the fence for the snare to fit into perfectly?

i prefer that if they are in the snare i wait for em to calm and take em out with my air rifle they dont tense up and the meat is perfect also cant go wrong with the recipe below me but i prefer my stew; vegetables, rabbit, pepper+salt, stock cube and lots of red wine the perfect stew

This is all good. My only worry is it’s 12-24 hours meat. It’s basically decomposing.

i set a snare but it didnt work
@flamedrag1812 жыл бұрын
actually, what he's doing is grabbing the head and legs, turning the head to a 90 or so degree angle, and pulling the head and legs, this fractures the neck and kills the rabbit quickly.

I'd love to buy this guy a beer! ;) Great videos, keep 'em coming! And for the granola eating treet hugging freaks that scour these videos posting BS afterwards. Why are you even looking at these videos knowing what they're about? You think your comments are gonna cause me to hand in my weapons? Not a chance! I think I'll go club a seal now. :)

Im a full time pest controller,been better if you made point about,markers when setting snares and livestock in areas,and most of all LIKE GLENN SAYS if you cant check them then dont set them!! but you have given others a demo,into what snaring is about....put 50 down and pick up 50...
@psmTARDCORE14 жыл бұрын
@AstralDragoon if u grab one by its ears and fur around its ears and pull on its rear legs it will scream on command.
@iceyoshi115 жыл бұрын
Although this does not look humane, and in a way it isn't, it needs to be done. Trust me this is defiantly not the worst way to go as a rabbit. Foxes will eat rabbits alive and hawks and large birds will spear them with their talens and peck out their eyes. Besides, on a lighter note... rabbits taste good :)

@ksb188 - A hunter kills animals in order to eat them. Implicit within the word "hunter" is the idea of survival. Snares are a far better way to catch rabbits in a survival setting as they leave you free to conduct other activities. Hunting as you describe it, to me at least, is killing rabbits for the thrill of killing them. Which is not so much hunting as it is sport.

i dont think that this kind of killing makes you hunter ...i believe it makes you more looking like a killer instead of hunter ! i hope you go for real hunting once and discover the nice feeling of killing a rabbit :)

@MrSmudger687 Now now, no need for name calling, we can be civil. Yes the population will continue to grow but if you look at the median estimate population growth levels out in 2080 and then 10 years later starts a decline. The biggest X factor is Africa, as you can see by the charts there is a huge disparity. So what is with the dipshit comment? It was like you were normal then roid raged... I could be wrong but please show me, don't freak out.
