These rabbit vet charge prices that are equivalent to hospital prices. For a human! I just spent over $1,200 for my Lionhead mini rex, I believe small ant got into her ear and caused a seizure oh, she bit her tongue. I panicked and took her to the emergency room vet. She was a very sweet bunny named Honey. Of which she was the color of. 24 hours later she had a pelvic broken in 5 places. The vet said she threw herself against the wall of her cage. Exotic animal vet. Had for dogs in the same stack of cages. One was barking constantly. The vet said she threw herself against the side of the cage and broke her pelvic in 5 places. I saw the x-rays. Less than 24 hours later as I sat with my rabbit for the last time. The vet said they needed to give her a feeding tube. She died 5 hours later. She was a healthy rabbit and live with me on my houseboat for two years. She never had a cage. We were very close. The pandemic made sure of that and she never saw other people. She saw the animals in the woods on Shore and we would go feed the squirrels and run around in a yard. She would sit with me and watch fireworks from very close without running away or acting afraid. She came out to see me anytime I said the word rabbit. I think that dish exotic animal vet at 9 p.m. at night was only interested in making money. My rabbit was a mini Rex with two Hepburn locks and trying to put a feeding tube in it. She was trying to make as much money off this as she could. No compassion. Over $1,200 I think she could have had somebody hold it in their lap overnight, instead of having to deal with a broken pelvic bone. Honey, I miss you and I love you. Green fields and blue skies forever

Sorry to hear about Honey. :( My vet has pet rabbits herself so I knew I found a good one.

I cry every night for over a month, if I think about her too much I cry again. She used to hold my hand at night and wrap her little fingers around the tip of one of my fingers. If I didn't wake up early enough in the morning she would nip my thighs to get me going. She used to groom my hair and beard. I always thought she was cutting my hair with her teeth. But she wasn't. Honey mimicked chickens, and other animals that she heard. I taught her the vowel sounds, and she had begun to talk. You could hear her good and understand her if you put your ear to her neck. Rabbits are special creatures in God's Kingdom.

Hey Kat...my Bunny Coco just underwent Gut Surgery....do you know herbs like Dill and Cilantro are great in stasis?
@RexRabbitRex4 жыл бұрын
Dill and cilantro shouldn’t cause any problems! We really want them to get back to eating hay during/after stasis, but left greens provide nutrients and water (important because rabbits generally become dehydrated during stasis).

Did your rabbit make it through the surgery and survive afterwards? I hope so. I've got a bunny going through GI stasis right now and I'm trying to save her without surgery. Can't really afford it but if I get the money I will even if it's only a chance. I catch her eating a little and drinking a little and making a little bitty poo. But she has lost her appetite. She still runs around and jumps up and down on the bed. You wouldn't know she was in GI stasis by the way she acts. He's actually a boy but I always calling him a she. White bunny with red eyes.

@@edwardroche2480 start him on Dill as soon as possible...its a wonder herb in stasis! Same with cilantro! The fragrance of these herbs attracts the Bunny and makes them want to eat. Dill has the same properties as Hay and cilantro helps in the expulsion of poop. Also, make time at least thrice a day and feed your Bunny hay....one strand at a time...at least 40 to 50 strands per meal. Do you know about Simithicone gas drops? It's a life saver. Administer 1 ml after every meal to help relieve gas pain. Make your Bunny drink water and if he's not eating his regular meals ...you can consider force feeding him. Now, if theres an obstruction...no matter what you feed will not pass out and you have to be careful about bloating. Hope this helped my friend. Do feel free to email me at rabbittailsbyfarrahmartis@gmail.com with any questions I saved my Bunny's life! And so can you🙏💙

@@edwardroche2480 also never ever give your Rabbit sweet of any kind during stasis...be it fruits or treats. It only makes the stasis worse! All the Best my friend 🙏💙

They do have pet insurance for rabbits it's about 20 bucks a month from what I've heard. I have a bunny GI stasis right now. I'm fighting it without surgery. If she quit eating about 4 days ago, and his only poop very little and peed very little that she doesn't drink any water either. I'm attempting to force her to drink water and give her pain meds and something to make her poo. I wish I had insurance, from what I've heard the chances of survival after surgery are not all that good. I'll do everything I can and spend every penny I got. It's a good rabbit oh, and I want to be a good human.
