They always groom once a stressful episode is over, such as being taken off from the top of a mountain where they are exposed to birds of prey. You may wish to remember the next time you struggle to pick up your bunny, that rabbits are ground animals and thus they hate being picked up. Not even their mother picks them up, ever. Birds of prey do, but bunnies have a reason to hate that!

Contrary to popular belief Carrots are not a rabbits most beloved meal. Place a Carrot and a stalk of Broccoli before a rabbit and i guarantee you it will go after the broccoli first. Rabbits also have a sweet tooth. They LOVE anything thats sweet.

Very true. Rabbits don't usually eat carrots. Not even wild rabbits. Now they can a very small amount of carrots like the tops of carrots with the green leaves still attached to it. 😊

Do you wonder why this poor rabbit did not eat a single bite - but sat still "like a king"? They are terrified of open fields where they are exposed to birds of prey from above. Experts point out that "Rabbits in open fields or yards will sit perfectly still to avoid their predators". Admittedly, it is not easy for humans to read the body language of rabbits. Rabbit behavior is not meant "to show off to humans". Dogs do that! Rabbits are prey animals, their fear-driven behavior is meant for survival! Some humans find their vulnerability "cute" and thus get hooked on their abuse!

OMG! The Poke is in his glory! Of course, and as one would expect when PA Poke is involved, they had to send a helicopter out to see who was invading the farm. Luckily, The Poke was able to raise the American flag above the fray. Excellent photography MA Poke. She has a feel for what a rabbit needs. Safety first - and then, something to munch on, like some pears, under a trustworthy protective hand. Unfortunately, he has absolutely no idea what makes a rabbit safe and happy. For rabbits, "open field" is a torture that can scare them to death, since in water they drown, on top of any mountain they are totally exposed to birds of prey. Another torture is to cage them, depriving them all freedom of hiding away from terrifying car rides to yet another peril. This ignorant animal owner (abuser, rather) is unable to read the body language of rabbits. Sniffing their nose very rapidly broadcasts their high anxiety as they are exposed to deadly birds of prey - they will not eat a single bite of ANYTHING while they are desperate to find any place to hide. Dogs love to engage in any Kunst to please their keeper - but rabbits are a completely different animal. For them SAFETY is not only FIRST, but is above anything! No wonder he keeps hiding under the couch and away from the callous and constantly threatening prison guard!

Upon arrival (4.12) it is visually evident that this bunny is very upset. Experts say "If they're worried, their ears will be flattened against their back". The mountain is a huge "open field" where there is no place to hide. Bunnies are terrified of total exposure to birds of prey!

Sorry my comments are a bit late but I was having problems accessing the comments. I was fascinated by the little Pigpoke sign hanging on the wardrobe door. Pigpoke is a very lucky Bunny, as he has his own room and his Parents try so hard to make his life more interesting and enjoyable. When he first arrived he would hardly leave the house, he has come on so much. He is so loved by his Bunny Mum and Dad and his fans. I am surprised he did not try to nibble one carrot. I reminded me of the old Pipkin video, to which the music is played King of the Wild Frontier. He is certainly carrying on his legacy. How did his parents get him to sit in that Dumper Truck on the carrot farm? He has been such a good boy. I wonder what he will get from Father Christmas this year.

Hawks are deadly to rabbits! In any "open field", a rabbit is frozen in fear of being detected - and takes the first chance when finds a place to hide. If a rabbit can not hide anywhere, can be scared to death!
