Anybody who goes into racing expecting to make money is an idiot. In my experience, people go into racing whether it's drag, drift autocross rally etc, they do it because they love it. Yes, they pour all their money into it, but isn't that what a passion is all about? I'd rather have the eight built cars I've owned for years and years then flip a bunch of incredible cars that I don't get to keep. That's the problem, I want to keep all of them! Well most of them.

“Mopar, Plymouth… It doesn’t matter you’re all losers anyway.” I think I would like to make a book comprised of nothing but quotes from Rob The Rabbit Pitts. Love to hear the old drag racing stories, especially the ones involving the Greer dragstrip. I would like to offer my sincere condolences, growing up around all that Mopar must have been a traumatic experience. It definitely shows how strong of an individual you are to have come through all that. Appreciate the video, you have given me a reason to look forward to Mondays.#RabbitForWorldPresident

I couldn't agree more about technology ruining drag racing. Late '70's / early '80's, I was a high school kid (graduated in '79) and built '69 Camaros for street and strip fun and racing. I built the engines myself. Worked on the car myself. My best time at New England Dragway was 12.84 @ 117 mph.. I'd race "9 second" street Mustangs , and beat them ........ It was a real sense of pride to build, and race, and win, on a shoe string budget, while working at the local Chevron service station, then later machining and building engines at a NAPA Machine shop. New car technology enables anyone to buy a stock car that will run 10's, and still get 25 mpg, and you never lift the hood. Takes the fun out of it. Another great tale . Take care Bud

Rob, thanks for the stories about your dad and grandad,,,golden! But I loved hearing about Terry Malone....I think about him from time to time. He installed a full body fiberglass kit on a little 280Z I had in the 80s. As far as I know that kit is still installed on that car and has not cracked and fallen off as many of them did. He was a master at what he did. He used to do a lot of fiberglass work for Stone right down the street from you there too. Thanks again!

So... one evening in South Bend I'm having dinner with my family at Tippecanoe Place which is a lovely Victorian restaurant but its claim to fame is that it was the Studebaker family mansion. The only other people there was an elderly couple who kept looking at....us. He approached our table and introduced himself and wife, the name I dont recall. But what he did say was that his father had come to the United States from Australia and made a deal with Studebaker to introduce the brand and import cars into their country. Nice fella, I'm guessing he was doing well..... wanted to connect with his ol man still.
