Raber's Tech Tips: Episode #5 - 1967 Triumph TR6 Front Fork Disassembled

Thanks for watching. The tools and procedures used here should generally cover all of the external spring, steel slider Triumph forks for 1964 onwards as fitted to 500cc, 650cc, and 68-70 Tridents. The specialty tools used in the video are available for purchase in the links below. Not all of the forks are identical inside; they changed at times over the years and may not necessarily match these in the video but the general construction and procedure is the same. If something doesn't budge when you're doing these, try a little heat.

Can I ask which way the ali separator tube should fit, please? Both of mine are slightly reduced in diameter at one end only, for about 3/8". I have removed them from a 1965 T100SS, and assumed that they were the same diameter for their whole length. Thanks in advance, from Nammo in central UK

Is it possible to change out fork seals without pulling the stanchions from the tripletree? I'm thinking I can take off the front wheel then unscrew the fork seal holder and pull the bottom part off the stanchion while leaving it in place. Maybe.

They have the restrictor untill sometime in 68.
