Robindronath Thakur is his name as pronounced in our Bengali culture. He was a writer (wrote novels for children for ageds, songs, poetry, short stories, articles, drama, song-drama, literature), a musician, drama director, song director, and a painter. He was unlucky that he was born in bengal and had his creations in bengali. Otherwise he was going to win Nobel prize for all his works separately, because all are of that excellence. Simply one nobel for just his Gitanjali is just under valuing such a all time great creator.

I'm Bengali and from my childhood I'm singing Rabindrasangeet . I am blessed because I can feel the songs and understand its language ....but due to academic pressure I can't give much time to this. If God wants to give me a prize , I will ask for another life as a Bengali which I can totally devote on Rabindrasangeet . Don't know why but in this short life of 20 years , whenever I forgot the whole world with joy , grief , pain , devotion , love or any kind of feeling , all I remembered was some song of him. He always gave me a out of the world and larger than life feeling and saved me from all the miseries and pleasures of this material world through his songs , poems , novels and all his creations .

Ravindra Sangeet ke lyrics itna deep meaning carry karte hai sath sathe ek emotion bhi. Rabindra Sangeet mein har ek mood ke gaane hai. Aap ko meaning pata honge toh aap feel kar sakte hai. Happiness leke depression, enjoyment leke sadness, Love, Celebration, Nature related, sab hi type ki gaane hai. Aur haan Ravindra Sangeet main Parjay hai. Parjay means you can say types, I mean mood aur meaning basis yeh Parjay ke variation hai. Aur My personal favorite is Puja Parjay(Worship type) and Prem Parjay(Love type) Puja and Prem Parjay ki Ravidra Sangeet ek Soul hai ek emontion hai jo bengali jante hai feel kar sakte hai woh Ravindra Sangeet ki dept jante hai, Of cause inke music taste bhi acche hona chaihe. Aur especially Puja Parjay, yeh Parjay ki kash bat yeh hai ki yeh gaane ke madhyam se aap kisi ko worship kar rahe ho. Aisa nehi hai ki aap sirf God ko hi worship kar rahe ho. You can worship your beloved through the music. So aisa bohot sare Puja parjay ki Ravindra Sangeet hai jo confusion karte hai woh Puja Parjay(Worship type) ki hai yeh phir Prem Parjay(love type).

I am glad you enjoyed the music! Yes you were so apt. I would like to share an experience of my college days- I feel so disheartened till date that whenever we were called for a performance for college day, our faculty did not accept even the theme like representing the art (music, dance, foods, etc.) of different states of india. And moreover said "ajkal market m ye sab nhi chalta, people don't get attracted by such things and gets bored easily, so you should not represent your state art or something but instead perform some item no. And party songs!" I felt so heartbroken and that too from an esteemed institute of this country (AIIMS it was to be precised) , i did not take a second to waste my talent on such people who doesn't respect art. I never performed for those people thereafter on that stage. And somehow i wasted my talent! But then i picked myself up, started singing again. Now i am learning telugu, tamil, malayalam, marathi, bengali ,rajasthani, semiclassical vocals! I opened all my school level co-cirricular certificates that i have won from ministery of india, directorates, nationals level! Moral of the story- we become what we feed our mind!

Seriously I am also sad by thinking that most of the Indians don't know about such beautiful art created by Rabindranath Tagore(Thakur)..We are forgetting our culture, our art, our ancestors and we are ok with it..What could be more disheartening than this!!!But none the less by default I born in a bengali family and I grew up listening "Ranidra Sangeet" performing on that on school festival..So who don't know about Rabindra Sangeet or never listen to them it's completely their loss..This man got nobel prize for his art on British period now you can imagine what is his level..🙏❤ P.S - Rabindranath Tagore is the first Nobel Prize winner on literature from Asia. Being a Bengali there are so many things to be proud of but Rabindrasangeet is something which makes me feel immensely lucky for being able to understand and feel the emotions portrayed by Kaviguru in his own language. The way you appreciate good lyrics I really feel bad that you are deprived of such a thing. Still you can check out the translations, it definitely won't be as beautiful as the originals but you can sense the philosophy and the depth of his thinking. There is a well-known fact about Rabindrasangeet which all Bengalis are aware of that the "Prem paryay" (Love genre) and "Pooja Paryay" (Devotional genre) songs often convey the same emotions and composed with similar lyrics because in Kaviguru's universe there is no difference between Love and Devotion 😊.

At first I thought that you would describe our bengali culture like all other youtubers do out there ! They just put bengali literature related captions as the headline of their videos & make them a waste . In that type of videos they pronunce our golden words simply like a joke ! ( content right ? ) but they don't know what bengali literature is & how much it is influenced by Rabindranath Tagore , our রবি ঠাকুর ❤ But you explained it well brother 👏atlist all non bengalies aren't same . World should know what a gem Rabindranath Tagore is ! His enthusiasm , his love , his passion and his hardworks in bengali literature .
