I remember when I was a kid and Rick was on his own before Lucky Duck and M2D Camouflage. The old Predator or Prey videos was all I looked forward to every year and it got me into filming my own hunts. I was like a kid at Christmas whenever I called him on the phone and at 9 years old I thought I was his biggest fan at the time but I’m sure there were people or kids who could kick my ass in that department. But Ricky was a kind man and offered his knowledge and support for a young boy hooked on predator calling, if you’re reading this Rick- Talk To Ya Later!😁

Oh man. I have a call I use for coyote hunting, but have never used it for raccoons. I hunt in Wabaunsee County Kansas. found a big old tree with 2 holes in it and set up. I started with a coon distress call and within 10 seconds two were out, down the tree, and charging towards the call. Got them both with my shotgun and then another one that stayed up the tree with my .17HMR. Crazy !

As much as I like hunting, and would like to do this, , it always rubs me the wrong way when people shoot all the predators (coyotes), then complain that there's too many things like raccoons. Hunt all you want, but don't use bad logic to defend it.
@greybush49945 жыл бұрын
Its literally impossible to eradicate the coyote population through hunting.
@jimf19645 жыл бұрын
grey bush True enough. But with a lot of intensive hunting you can drop it a lot. Point is, trying to manage a population, because the natural managers have been managed to death is not valid logic. I have a need for both sides of issues to make sense.
@8dragons1965 жыл бұрын
Raccoons used to be worth something (fur), today they are worth little to none. People have mostly stopped trapping them so their population has exploded. I know farmers that have extensive damage done to their crops because of raccoons.
@jimf19645 жыл бұрын
8dragons yt Yeah, I know. I get it. I know it's almost impossible to have a balance with nature, and farming. I also know that the idea of this utopian balance in nature is full of shit, cuz predators will keep populating till the food runs out, ie they kill everything, then they start to starve, and then it resets. Nature isn't pleasant either. Just a shame when food or resources go to waste.

@@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry1594 yes,your right. But they are just plain out killing to kill. They weren't rabid raccoons. Look,I rescue wildlife and humans thrown away pets. They are culling us. You don't like it.(at least I hope not). Well,it's the same damn thing. All I'm saying,is folks need to live balanced. Stop taking. And start giving back to nature.

@heatherproffitt86032 жыл бұрын
@@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry1594 yes,I have encountered an animal with mange. It's treatable. It's hard to do with wild ones,but it's do-able. So your saying anything with a soul that has a disease,even if it's treatable,should be killed? Hmmm,do you have children? Parents? They healthy? I hope so. It's the same thing if one of your parents was home,sick with the flu-rona,minding their own business,and someone kicked down their door,and shot them to shit. Same deal.
