Since word first broke of the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, there’s been talk about the young Black man seen walking around a home under construction in that Brunswick, Georgia neighborhood.
On the fourth full day of testimony in the trial of the three white men accused of killing Arbery, the court heard from a man named Larry English, who owns that home.
Former prosecutor Leslie Ricard Chambers and criminal defense attorney Mark Davis join Laverne McGee on “Making the Case” to discuss the role race played in today’s testimony.

Many older people in small southern towns still use terms such as “colored” when referencing African Americans. If they are called out for using such terms they play ignorant and apologize, explaining they can’t keep up with what they want to be called, further establishing their racist views.
