If it wasn't for people like this guy, I'd think it's a full on race war out there. I'm seeing more videos where black people are "defending" white people. It's nice to hear black people that don't think all whites are inherently racist and privileged. But then I'm hit with the sad irony that black folks in America feel compelled to use their voice to defend white people. Accusations of racism are a much bigger problem than people actually being racist.

This episode is beyond boring. I am also skeptical as to the intellectual honesty of anyone associated with the Manhattan Institute. The Manhattan Institute lists grifter Christopher Rufo as an expert on Critical Race Theory. Rufo who said this on Twitter: "The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think 'critical race theory.' We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans."
@biblicalworldview1 Жыл бұрын
You need to judge what he says on its merits and not who he is connected with. Robert Wright is not interviewing Chris Rufo. Nor have you actually said what Chris Ruffo had wrong about CRT. Instead you are critiquing Chris' methods as a critique of Coleman. Weird.

"Truly" embarrassing... indeed. Oh, and some of us feel Bob is doing just fine, and that Brett could use a solid dose of humility.
@kellyowens1868 Жыл бұрын
@@jong431+ Then I can be assured you haven't watched their debate. I'd be surprised if Bob even posted it on his channel, it was that bad. He went well beyond arguing in bad faith, & as more, & more information about government malfeasance, deception, & inexcusable censorship is revealed almost daily on subjects like origins of the Virus, "vaccine" injuries, & the extensive harms unconstitutional lockdowns have caused, & continued to cause, to name just a few, Bob's positions will. I'm not sure what you mean by your humility comment, but I find it difficult to see how it applies to Brett. If you aren't familiar with his cotnent, & he, & his wife Heather's measured, rational, & transparently scientific approach to these Covid issues, maybe throwing out some random criticism out there isn't your best bet. I think Brett, & Heather have been remarkably humble considering they've been right about virtually every significant aspect of SARS Cov 2 origins, our counter productive, arbitrary, & authorittrian public health response(s), repurposed dugs to treat Covid infections early on, coordinated campaigns to censor dissonant scientific perspectives, government officials lying to the public about "safe, & effective Vaccines" the incalcuable societal harms lockdowns, & school closures would cause, predictable serious health effects of using novel MNRA technology in a mass vaccination campaign in the face of a raging pandemic, & on, & on & on, months if not years before the rest of the world came to the same inevitable conclusions. As someone who has been subbed to Bob's channel, through it's various iterations, for years before I found the Brett, & Heathers Darkhorse Podcast, & recognized almost immediately how accurate their predictions were, & useful their deliberate, evidence based, & rational analysis was in understanding the bigger picture of this Covid operation we were being subjected to. Through the twitter files, the release of Dr. Fauci's private, unredacted e-mails, the 4, or 5 major Covid stories exposed by Project Veritas, honest Doctors like John Campbell from the UK, & Dr. Prassad from UCSF, among many others we know have confirmation about how right the Weinstein's have been all along. Bob Wright ... not so much. KOut
@jong431 Жыл бұрын
@@kellyowens1868 Thanks for such a detailed, thoughtful reply. Yes, I watched the Bob & Bret debate in it's entirety, and read the extensive series of comments posted by the Bret fan base. I've followed Bret & Eric Weinstein for 6 or 7 years online, and saw Eric live in my home city. I enthusiastically tuned in to every DarkHorse podcast from Day One, at the very start of covid in March 2020, and watched every episode and Q&A for over two years before eventually phasing them out of my weekly routine. I'm quite tuned in to Bret & Heather's favorite topics of choice, including the finer details of Evergreen... my niece was a student at that college at the time the protests took place, when Bret & Heather eventually departed. Yes, they're quite brilliant as evolutionary scientists. I find those insights fascinating and insightful. I just happen to be less convinced about some of their arguments regarding covid. It would've been nice of they shared their viewpoints without having them wrapped in such an aura of conspiracy. And I feel that, while they definitely have an ax to grind about Evergreen and life in Portland, they sometimes lack a reasonable objectivity about the general wokeness armageddon they make reference to virtually every episode. I have two siblings who live in Portland, and have traveled there several times a year for 20 years... the city's got plenty of issues of course, but according to them you'd think the entire place was overrun by wingnut libtards, intent on burning the entire city to the ground. Ugh, that's sounding a lot like Tucker Carlson. And no I'm not at all a fan of the woke agenda whatsoever, I'm just slightly left of center. But I also try to remain reasonable and objective. Weinstein Humility? As mentioned, the Weinsteins are quite bright, accomplished, engaging, are telegenic, have cute pets, and make amusing quips. I just prefer podcasters who are less harsh in their blanket dismissal of those who disagree with them. I prefer intellectuals who don't speak in absolutes so often, e.g. a thousand times referencing "vaccines that don't work" (no, they don't prevent covid, but they sure did and do have a role in preventing serious cases and deaths... geez, that's somethin'!). "None" of our institutions work anymore. Um... none? Not a one? At all?? Too much "never" this and "always" that. And "we were right!" Well, not always Bret, and it'd be refreshing to acknowledge more humbly the times you weren't. But I get it, that's often not how podcasting goes when it's your livelihood. Although Joe Rogan and Lex Fridman are plenty humble and open to new ideas and arguments from others. Well those are some of my thoughts, I'll tune in to Bret here & there as long as he isn't going down his rabbit hole of covid & wokeness, I've heard more than enough from him in the past 3 years, and there are alternative sources to obtain knowledge and hear viewpoints. Oh, and I'll continue to listen to Bob Wright too! He's an extremely smart & decent guy, with plenty of good insights.
@kellyowens1868 Жыл бұрын
@@jong431 + I've done a lot of thinkng about your extensive reply, which I thoroughly enjoyed, & read all the way through, at least twice. It's fascinatng that you confess to watching less & less of the Darkhorse podcast, as virtually every position, every prediction, & every criticism Heather, & Brett had on the government response to Covid, the underlying facts of the Covid pandemic, to the consistant parade of false, fraudulent, & patently dishonest statements made by Federal, State, & Executive Branch officials for public cosumption, was consistantly borne out by building scientific consensus, & 100's, if not 1,000's of properly conducted clinical trials, academic research, & peer reviewed papers published in the leading journals. Note: Jon, if you could indulge me for a few hours. If you did read this far, I appreciate that immensely, & I would like to think I was almost finished, but I know far too much about WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT EVERGREEN, & WHY PORTLAND is a FAILED CITY, IN DRAMATIC DECLINE irrespective of what the Weinsteins may have experienced, & said on those 2 issues. It's undeniable Wokeness is the primary factor in the rapid implosion of both institutions,, if you've spent as much time as I have observing, & learning about the details & the timelines of the predictable disasters that befell both places, that goes back at least a decade from the present. If you think Evergreen amounts to some "protests" I hate to tell you how much that hurts your credibility, but maybe that's all you've been able to read about what actually went on there. It"s because of what happened to Brett Weistein there at Evergreen, which was really more a "canary in a coal mine" event, & an abject lesson about the incredibly harmful effects Wokeness can have on an institution steeped in such a deliterious ideology. I think Heather's literally being hunted in the parking lots by "trans" students of color, actually wielding ax handles, & baseball bats, & the Weinsteins literally fleeing the campus for their own safety, tells any honest observer this wasn't a story about some run of the mill "student protests" as you put it. Then again when I asked my 70 year old mother to "just look what's going on at Evergreen college," she actually responded it was about white supremacy, & e-mailed me some fake news article from the Daily Beast, or some other incredible Woke, progessive propaganda outlet. The enrollment figures at a typical college don't collapse to unsustainable levels in such a brief stretch of time when some "student protests" make the news. Benjamin Boyce was not only an adult student at Evergreen, but working in the A/V department of the school, setting up microphones, & cameras for the myriad meetings, & the introduction of "Woke" presentations, the bumbling president of Evergreen, George Bridges deliberately instituted on campus; gave Mr. Boyce a unique, & very objective perspective of what had developed at Evergreen for years before that mob of unfamiliar students interupted Brett's class on that fateful day, DEMANDING he resign immediately because he objected to a racially charged exercise that officially barred "White people" from the tax payer funded public college in Olympia, Washington ... on a school day, while the college was in session. Oh, why I need to take a break for a few hours? I live in Northern California, & that darn global warming has somehow managed to produce a freak snow storm here at an elevation of just 1200 feet, & there is literally 3 inches of snow that is threatening to destroy many of my trees, bushes, & shrubs if I can't manage to relieve some of the incredible weight on their limbs, & branches that they certainly have never experienced in a century, maybe 2, or 3 in this area, & I've already watched 2, or 3 major limbs simply snap off of my Ucalyptus trees, & my 200 foot fir trees, right at the trunk. Now I was about to promise to pay for your next trip to Portland, airfare, rent-a-car, gas money, food, loging ... the works, {for one of your typical visits} if you would simply promise to drive me around downtown Portland for a few hours one afternoon, so we could both see for ourselves how the Rose City, a premeire tourist destination not long ago, is really doing. Maybe it's not I bad as what I've seen with my own 2 eyes, as other Portland residents simply drive around the hotel district, the city parks, & the downtown business district with a basic go-pro camera pointed out the passenger side window on any given weekday. Now if you're one of those "ANTIFA isn't an organization, it's just an idea." as Congressman Jerry Nadler infamously put it, your either in for quite an education, or you probably won't come back for the brief history of how Wokeness, "progressive politics," & organized mob violence has turned one of America's most beautiful cities into a dystopian nightmare that is only getting worse day, by day as long time residents, & tax paying businesses both large, & small vote with their feet & flee what may be the next Detroit. Baltimore had quite a head start, on Portland, but in the last decade Portland has seen the quality of life for the avererage resident crater from a much higher starting point than Baltimorecwas at after decades of steady decline. ... til then ... KOut. You can check out where Portland is today in the rankings of tourist destinstions yourself, compared to it's perennial top 10 ranking from roughly 10 years ago, if you want an objective measurement, & that might save me the hassle of bringing up the skyrocketing murder rate, the out of control crime problem, & the larger crisies Portland faces in the near term, that have nothing to do with whatever the Weinsteins said about their relatively brief time living in Portland, which wasn't much as far as I could tell. Even as they were packing up the possessions, & giving up on what was a disappointing experience they both had many good things to say about the area, & the friends they made their, which says more about them as people, than it does about the quality of life in Portland, if you know what I mean.
