I reference this quote often. There is even actual scientific support for it. The University of Michigan, or Michigan State (don't remember which) did a study that found when people are confronted with factual proof of something that goes against what they already believe, most people reject the factual evidence and double down on their erroneous beliefs. They refined, expanded and repeated the study a few years later and confirmed this odd (and disheartening) phenomenon.

She wouldn't. That logical fallacy was already pointed out. The woman presenting with Charlie (I don't know her name, but I'd love to get it. She's a very interesting person to listen to) pointed out that Asian Americans have a lower rate of incarceration and a higher median income than White Americans and that if she's making the argument that Blacks are discriminated against because they are being incarcerated more then the argument that Whites are discriminated against is equally valid. If the evidence you use to prove your point also disproves your point when taken into a wider context, your point is not valid. The questioner is very clearly suffering from a lot of cognitive dissonance and stomped off like a spoiled child because she couldn't handle that the presenters *Had* answered her question but not in the way she wanted them to. She thought she had a question that had no reasonable answer, and when they presented a reasonable answer she got huffy.

As someone who deconstructed from federal grade programming, you are talking about the breaking of dogma that people go to great lengths to avoid. While they may not respond to the first, or even second and third argument they come across, it does rattle around and add up. Liberalism is Quaker Dogma. America's first evangelicals. It is literally a form of extremist Protestant. Faith in God was replaced by faith in institutions. So it is like telling an evangelical that God doesn't exist, when you prove the institutions wrong. I deal with it in my own household on things and I am coming from a position of authority and they still don't want to admit they were lied too.

Actually statistics works for her but she didnt present conclusions and they shout her down. You can easily change numbers into percentage - 1 million crimes of black ppl and 4 millions crimes of white ppl, so black ppl commited 20% of crimes. If u add other races then that percentage becomes even lower. So question she should ask is why there is 38% of black ppl in prison if they commit less than 20% crimes? Off course you cant say if there is or there isnt white privilege based on those few numbers. You need much more data and know where it comes from.

Everyone throughout time has had to grow through all the different ages. You have, I have...and I'm 62.. all my four children ages 42, 37, and 28 year old twins have, and my three grandchildren will and have up to their current ages from teen to preschooler. It began with the very first human, Adam, and he and Eve were in absolute perfection in God's very presence yet still sinned when there had been no sin. Hundreds of years from now people will still be saying things as you have said regarding the next generations. It indeed does matter what we do today because it all does ripple throughout time worldwide. Abandoning your own child/ children is inexcusable and should be considered a crime. Walking out on your children or alienating your children from the other parent is a crime in need of societal punishment shame for accountability for life. You walk out on a child, you get an anklet and three jobs at minimum with every cent going to your child or children for life. Perhaps then maybe parents could be held accountable. Stop handing out money to panhandlers because some are evading child support payments wage garnishments for them. Hold mothers accountable for who the father of the child is rather than destroying the child's ability to even know who his or her father is and paternal family members are which ripples for all future generations. It's disgusting when I see on mothers' groups some women telling pregnant women to just not tell the father he's the father. That's proof of an unfit mother if she'll lie to her own child about not only the father but also the entire paternal side of the child's family. That child may one day have children and grandchildren, all who will never know their true relatives. Absolutely shameful and in need of accountability from all of society. Stop thinking it's none of your business and stand up for all these children against all the lies they're told.

@@joaopedrobaggio4475 humans indeed have "evolved". The issue is in what way have we evolved from the perfectly created original human who, though perfectly created, was given free will as we all have been given. Unless you really haven't yet thought very deeply, you obviously know there had to have been a first prior to all else. That First couldn't have been created otherwise it wouldn't have been the first. The first prior to all else had to have no creator and had to have always existed with no beginning at all. Our limited human brains can still understand that, but we're certainly limited in being able to fully be overwhelmingly amazed at the massive true reality of that First. If you truly can't even yet conceive of a first prior to all else, I encourage you to share how you believe all that has ever existed started. We ALL have a faith in what or who we believe to have been first prior to all else because none of us were that first, obviously. Faith is believing something we cannot prove in all aspects. Tell that young woman who asked the first question why more men than women are in prison. And yes, there is indeed a bias against men in family courts, sadly, and mothers are unfortunately priority even over the best interests of the child no matter how unfit the mothers are proven to be. In criminal courts there's a bias against men, as well, especially involving a woman or child, but men indeed do commit more serious crimes overall than women. Sometimes women convince men to commit those crimes, but it's still the choice the man has made.

She is trying to sabotage him to get a friend of hers into the company and the bosses are aware (there’s a nice referral bonus for that). I don’t expect people to agree with me, we all have different experiences and expectations. I’m not a professional anything, I’m retired. BUT, I DO have experience being a 30something with a job and child. I, as well as my friends, were more likely to “job hop” than our partners. My point was telling him to look around, there are people who have been with the company 30 years (in this case, men), and office staff who seems to turn over quicker (in this case, women). So, my reasoning to him in the moment was this…you’re going to retire from THIS job, and she’s most likely gonna have a baby or get married or choose a different career path, and since she’s known already as a troublemaker, her career path may just get chosen FOR her. So, he just needs to keep his own counsel and let her hang herself. And the short of it is that I believe women are more likely to job hop than men in general.
