Actually, there are different strains of HIV (which causes AIDS). If you are HIV+, and you have unprotected sex, or share needles, etc. with another person who is HIV+, it is possible you can acquire a different strain of HIV. This can highly complicating things like treatment, getting virus levels under control, increasing the risk and speeding up the progression to AIDS.
