It's a shame this doesn't have more views. This is the best explanation with examples I've found on YT so far.

Thank you for this video. I've just started getting into more "realistic" racing games with a wheel + shifter, having a hard time getting rid of bad habits from arcade racing games. I found your video to be very helpful in understanding why I keep spinning out of control and the theory behind it.

I often get in trouble by trailbraking into a corner where the rear slides. Any tips on that?

Sounds like you’re over braking imo but it’s hard to know without looking at the graphs. Do a clean lap and then do a lap where you have your problem and compare the two see what you’re doing.

@@tjayk9127 thx. I got new pedals (Simagic P1000 with hydraulic brake) and my feel is a lot better now.

Amazing explanation of why oversteer occurs and how to understand and handle with it. Greeting!

Damn, I learned this through trial and error, now I know the theory behind this

Playing Project cars and with minimal steering angle and throttle the car will spin 170 degrees with max counter steer and feathers throttle. GT feels like the front end has greater responsiveness in the front end.

i've spun out twice in the span of four month in my wrx wagon, no abs(came like that) fitment is wonky lol, and i am more than likely sure i've spun out cause of reason two. stay safe out there y'all i'm glad my car is still drivable but the front right portion of the car is iffy😵💫 (coils and all that are screwed)

3 years to late, but here's my two pence worth. As far as oversteer/understeer goes, instructional tutorials, are ok, but actual experience/feel and muscle memory, is king. Racing is best served with PRACTICE!!! Not so much verbal, or written directives. Go do plenty of Drift practice and your OS/US will improve over time!!! PATIENCE and PERSISTENCE. good luck racers.... 🏁🏆

This video game stuff is cool..but id bet a new edge mustang with 350hp will snap oversteer your ass into a ditch. Some things dont translate.
