Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

She thinks those stats on the bar exam results are bad? When I took the bar exam in Michigan in the summer of 1974, not a single black test taker passed and you could pass by passing EITHER the multiple choice multistate exam OR the essay test. So, they got an attorney, claimed the bar exam was "racist" and the state Bar cratered and waived them all in. This has been going on for a long time.

"My system" didn't make them fail the test. They were all adults who had been through college and law school. If they couldn't cut it or didn't bother preparing for the exam that's their problem and not my problem or fault.

As to the rest, as I tried to say before, we are speaking of adults who were taking the bar exam after having completed college and law school. I do not feel I have any duty to help other adults prepare for the exam, irrespective of race. That is their own personal responsibility. At what age do you feel such responsibility kicks in?

W. Bush singed a law that requires a specific % of Blacks and Hispanics (my background) to graduate Nursing School ...to receive Federal funding. "Shamaqua Jones has poor grades? Pass her, we need another warm Black body to add to the graduation numbers" A nursing school near you.

Interesting that you choose to use “Shamaqua Jones” and not “Maria Gonzalez” in your example. As a “Black nurse”, my RN program chose QUALIFIED candidates using a computerized lottery system and I waited five semesters before I was accepted. The NCLEX exam is also computerized, so I’m not sure how this exam would have known the race of the test taker???
