Thanks, how I can improve or move background map ? In my case, the map is shifted to the side, it does not match the photo of google map or other layers. How I can import these segments to AIM (MyChron) ?

Hi Jonas. As per our email (but also seeing someone else liked your comment), the trick here might be to try a different mapping provider to see if someone (like Bing or Here) has a better sattelite image of the track.

Hello, thanks very much for for providing these videos! Recently purchased a solo 2. To get familiar, we created a track on our property but it appears that some of the sessions don't recognise laps although they are very close to the initially created map. Even on the very session used to create the map, not all laps were recognised but some were bundled together as one lap. Is there any reference material for this issue that you are aware of? Loving these videos, very helpful thank you. I'm using RS3 and trying to create my own track map, but I don't have the 'choose track map' option? I've got 'show track map' and 'create new track map' but i'm worried i'll overwrite the original. Any suggestions where I might be going wrong? Many thanks

Hello James. Is there a button to play through the data field automatically, I believe it’s called “data animation” in rs2

Unfortunately not like in RS2A. There isn’t the Lap Replay Analysis function either (yet!). Closest you can get is when you’ve got a SmartyCam as that will allow for side by side video and the data then animates. Good feature request to send to AiM though via RS3A. Thanks!

This is an known issue. One thing you can try is clicking on the little map button on the track map and trying different mapping software. Bing or Here are also very good at times.

How do you *change* the assigned track map for an existing session? I've used "create new track map" to generate a more accurate track map for a particular layout. I'd like to assign it to old sessions that used a different track map. This appears necessary to get Aim RS3 to load both sessions in the same tab for comparison purposes.

I would recommend managing these via the RS3 software. Save your maps, delete the ones you don't need and upload the new one you've created. Hope that makes sense.

At my local track on race days the rolling lap misses the dogleg , his is the track the gearbox karts take and my mychron 5 is setting the data to this one , version 3 of the track, is there anyway to change this ? On practice days it's fine and on race days we only cut that corner for one lap out of the session, it's mancells raceway in the UK if that helps

One option might be to create a new track in your device and use that to ensure you have the correct layout. You could then upload that to the AiM database to use later. If not, perhaps share the feedback with AiM and see if they can help you out. Wish I could help more.

Hi James I'm frustrated trying to setup named splits in RS3 ver 3.63.20. I do not have the options shown in your video ie for naming splits division etc... is this something addressed in a more recent video? Should I not be watching videos from older software versions?Is AIM not maintaining backward compatibility with new releases/updates????? Thx!

I don't think there is... just yet. I've got this feedback into AiM and will follow up as I learn more. I did the same as you and altered the AiM default before I cloned it.

Hi James, I've been having some issues with the track overlay on the map. The lap looks a few meters displaced. Is this normal? Is there something I can do?

Hi Gian. The track overlay on the map (like Google Earth) will often be a little displaced. This is normal. Try switching mapping provider and see if they've got a better overlay? Thanks!

James, sometimes when creating custom splits some of my laps will ignore the split I've created and combine several sectors all into one. For example, if I make one split a section of esses from just before braking to midway through exiting the last turn, it works for some laps but on others (from the same session) it might also include the following straight and turn at the end of the straight, which makes the channels report a mess. Any ideas?

Hmm... once you've created a split it should remain. We ran into a few issues with this during the 'beta' phase but now it's in full production it's been super stable. Are you running the very latest version of RS3? Beyond that I'd ask if it's track specific (and if you are comapring two sessions vs. laps within the same session) as the logger might have recorded using different sattelites and your 'split' isn't consistent against two recorded sessions. I also recommend perhaps dropping this via the feedback button to AiM as it shouldn't be doing this. Thanks David.

@@JamesColborn I will send it to Aim, as I am using the latest version and this is within one session. For example, out of 15 laps, 3 of them might ignore some of my sectors. It's just weird. It does only seem to be with that session though, but I will experiment more.

Sounds like you didn't get the full GPS data OR you don't have the track updated in your software. Before opening RS3A, on RS3, look to the top menu and on the image of the map, click there and make sure you have the very latest maps loaded. This might bring in what you need to then get the right track map. Hope this works for you!
