That was a GWM Ute and they have actually decent running gear. 8 speed ZF gearbox, Borg Warner transfer case and Harrop rear locker. They are also legal for 33s. Seen a few crawl up rocks easy.

Everything is good with the GWM, the gearbox, the interior, the transfer case, except for the engine. 400nm is really tiny for a ute but considering its price, its really a decent ute

@@wyc4934 The cannon is actually 200kgs lighter then most other dual cabs so it makes up for that lower torque. I just climbed a mud hill on a steep incline in my gwm. Where a Navara and ranger got stuck and needed winch.

@@wyc4934 also, it’s long wheel base is the same as the new rangers and amaroks so it destroys other utes in steep climbs and towing stability. Also is the one of the widest utes in its segment.

One of the Best Shows I have seen of all 4wd shows. Good on you all that’s testing gear out, to the max knowing what you can & can’t do. The water crossing reminded me of Sam’s first big trip with the Boys got stuck in the Wenlock River. Again awesome honestly how good is Australia. Thanks heaps terrific. The Ute you guys came across was actually a GWM ute, a Chinese ute not the Korean SsayngYong. Its a ute with over 230k units sold a year globally so I'm sure its got its reliability issue sorted out.

We've been on the road for 4 months. Left Adelaide and did Strezleki, Windorah Rd, Savannah Way from Booroloola to Hells Gate, Burketown, Normanton through to Cairns. Haven't seen rain in 4 months. Everybody else has been hit hard, but not us WTF?
