After watching this ep I found my boys ripping bark off trees to make string and digging holes in the middle of the lawn to bury lemons (‘putting a roast on the coals, Mummy’). They call Nav ‘bush tucker man’ after watching the offgrid eps 😅 Thanks Nav and Matt - now I’m seriously thinking about cancelling the RAV4 I’ve got on order and getting something that will take my boys & I out of Melbourne and into the bush!

Used to love fishing on top of this reef at low tide. Sneak in to a mangrove hole at the back of the reef, the tide drops, burley up a snag and watch all the jacks come from nowhere.

It’s a magical place out there in the blue holes. I have spent a bit of time walking around on that reef at Gun Point. I have seen quite a few blue ring octopus there a big croc or two & all sorts of awesome creatures. The blue holes fish well for pelagic on the western end just near the drop off at the start of a run in tide on springs. Thanks for sharing 🙃🙃👍🏻👍🏻

Cool episode. It's quicker to roll the fibers together on the top of your thigh, you'll get longer lengths of string quicker aswell.
@dodgyhodgie7342 жыл бұрын
Depends if you can get the friction right for it to roll and usually it's not rolled as tight as doing it his way so wont be as strong. But yes it's an ok method to use if you know what you are doing.
