RACE WEEKEND AT DAYTONA & SEBRING RACEWAY

Over the weekend I attended the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway and as well as a special private track day at Sebring Raceway to test out Classic Car Clubs Revolution Prototype. This weekend was a true eyeopener for me as I have been back and forth on deciding what exactly I've been wanting to do with my shop and over all my cars. I am happy to say I am working on getting my SCCA license and I hope to build a pretty good track record for this year.
Although I have stayed in my current shop, I am most likely going to be moving out of New Jersey this year and move somewhere wayyyyy warmer. It's easier said than done but the change needs to happen. I of course have not mentioned this to anyone but if you're reading this description than you are one of the first to know. I have loved New Jersey for the 6 years I have lived here but I know fully in my heart that I do not belong there. I am tired of the traffic, the expensive cost of living, the people living on top pf each other and overall the weather. I hope wherever I end up that I can continue to have the same things that I currently have here like a shop and friends to share my passion with.
I want to thank classic car club, IMSA, and Vlad's Autobahn for having me this weekend and I can't wait to continue witnessing greatness this racing season.

Liz you know as much as we all do if you are either involved in racing or just a fan of racing that wrecks are just another part of racing. I get being a little timid about getting back into a car after the spinout in the Z since you need to fully heal but if you are fully healed up then it's time to get back in a car and start turning laps that's the only way that you are going to get used to it. I for one have a feeling that you will be great behind the wheel. As an old Nike campaign used to say JUST DO IT! Thank you Liz for sharing this little video. May you have a good one. took Toyota long enough to release a "GR" series. when the FRS/BRZ first released, they should have had a 'twins' cup much like the miata/mx-5 cup. sell sports cars through racing (genius).

@@MICKBETH...if your plans do move forward, good luck. find a sponsor (OF or not), find a product or cause you believe in and work it from there. hell, create your own (woman owned) company and make it happen. there have been a lot of women only ventures recently (look at the dames racing outfit) w/all woman drivers. I realize it shouldn't be as tough as it is, but for reasons unknown, that's the reality....again good luck when it happens

If you're really driven to accomplish something, no pun intended, just keep doing it. Perhaps you've heard of 10,000 hours being required to master a skill to the point that you're really great at it. You don't need "natural ability" if you set out to learn everything you can and never stop practicing. The great guitarist Steve Vai describes this very eloquently. He's so inspiring.

Don’t give up, but it’s a process , a lot of racers started in carts and moved up, follow the Imsa pad, your a natural road racer/ rally racer. No shame in taking some classes from professionals❤😊

Great racing events, and the cars were amazing looking. Documenting the SCCA license and your racing career would be great and different from most people's content. It would help take you to the next level. Overcome the fear and push yourself to improve. That's how everyone gets better and achieves greatness.

It's extremely hard to get into Motor racing if you don't have a famous last name or a healthy bank account. Its not something I wanted to face at the time.. I tried extremely hard as well.. sadly, at the end I didn't have enough funding to get into it professionally. It's something I regret considerably but alas, not something I can change. I continue to go to many events but simply as a support person. Stuck doing IT work for a living... c'est la vie.. Hopefully things continue to line up for you..

Good luck with the license & move! Hopefully it’s FLO-RIDA since it’s nice & toasty during winter & lots of motorsports events happen there as you have experienced recently.
