The new floor looks good but the holes in the tiles and dust getting through it and cleaning would do my head in not to mention every time you drop something means you got to pull the tile up and that if you know where the thing that you dropped landed and which tile to pull up! Well as long as you are pleased that is all that matters. Other then that I just wish I had a garage! LOL.

The floor looks great. You were lucky to have your dad help you out. I wonder about something though. At the beginning, you were holding the tile up and I know that the design is open meaning that dirt or other debris can fall through to the actual floor. How are you able to clean that up when you need to? Next, how much of a gap did you leave on the edges? I don't believe you mentioned that. Lastly do the transition pieces from the tile flooring to the edge of the garage opening come with the tile order? Thanks a lot.

@vvilliamluk
@vvilliamluk 4 жыл бұрын
@@JustMrRodgers No problem. While those tiles look awesome, there are more problems than one would expect. During hot summer months, the tiles would break apart very easily and the plastic of the tiles become so soft, it will buckle up when you drive on it with a little speed. If you drive the car on it in an angle (we have a side load garage), the tiles will definitely break apart. Don't mix the solid and freeflow tiles as they expand in different rate in hot temperature, the joints will break as a result and you can fix them until the temperature cools down. If you drive on the lose joints, most likely the tiles won't connect again. RaceDeck does have great customer service. They will send you replacement tiles if there is any problems.

So, if you get oil or a spill on the floor it goes right through the tile and sticks / stains onto the concrete garage floor. What's the point of using tiles like that? Surely, the whole aim is get a durable floor covering that is stain resistant and easy to clean. Also, the perforations in the tiles are just going to trap dust and dirt over time. Sure, they look real pretty when installed but no, definitely not for me sorry.
