What is the actual reason that the hood is being considered? I know Gordon Elliott is a great supporter of the pre race red hood on many of his horses. Wesley Ward the American trainer seems to race all his horses in hoods but they are flat horses and invariably sprinters. Gary Moore who i knew his father Charlie very well ( still miss Charlie) seems to have several sporting hoods as well. Like Ward they usually sport his initials. Hoods usually are used for horses who react to crowds, muffles the sound.

Hi Jack. Max can be keen in his races and get too excited in the paddocks. Admittedly he is a different horse and once he finds his form I will consider removing it during the race. Thanks for sharing my journey

For sure. He is an older horse now so hope it can be removed soon although if it’s not broke don’t fix it.
