please upgrade your rocker arm trunnion kit to the che kit that removes the needle bearings entirely. if u get those needle bearings in your oil pan your gonna be in the saaaaame boat as me. (the che kit costs under 300 bux last i looked and will save you from the giga bill of having to replace everything.)

I remember helping my father replace a broken valevspring on a 3800 Buick engine. It involved removing a spark plug, stuffing lots of string into the cylinder and cranking it up to Top Dead Center to keep the valve from dropping into the cylinder while we removed the retainer and old spring. I learned something new that day. Lol

So that Solo J-pipe in the rear, or "some bent dick thing on the side of it" as you so eloquently put it, is noise canceling technology that not only completely cancels out drone, but is also fully adjustable, so that if the drone frequency is changed by exhaust , tune or other power adders, the j-pipes can be slid in or out to cancel the drone. I would invite you to drive the SS around straight piped, particularly at around 1200-1400 RPM, and then do the same with the Solo system. Not the same, not even close to the same. I've done both, on an SS, and while one rattles your fillings out, the other sounds good around town, and full on stupid under full throttle, just the way God intended. 👍

I have a G8 GT with TSP cam and dod delete kit. I have been running a mail order tune for about a year, and would love to have a Fran tune. I have been fallowing ever since you first started posting and love the builds. It would be eppic to do a give away with merch purchase. And yes I know you are super busy and don't need the work. I have almost the same set up on my 2015 SS, its an Auto, i think this one was also, or you shift like a champ. It runs great, but one thing i found, it stalls until it warms up (when i put it in gear), it does good when warmed up until i am coming to a stop, then it will stall on me (sometime, not all the time). it shifts great, just stalls sometime when coming to a stop. is that normal? I had it tuned after the cam went in, or do i need a different torque converter. I wish i could have came to you guys, but I am way to far away.

I had a 09 vette manual cam only 630 ish something lift 230ish duration and it put down 475 @RPM in NC. Probably the difference in transmissions.

So about RPM. These guys are the goats pretty much when it comes to getting your car fixed. I contacted them via email about my car. They gave me all true prices. mainly bc my car is at a shop here, and the prices they gave me match up to what im being told by the shop here. I have the same car in this video. Now for the sad part. Heres what mine came with from the dealership ( which i had no clue about until after it blew up. ) Engine has the following upgrades: -Rocker arms have BTR trunnion upgrade -Camshaft is BTR Stage 2 NA -Dual aftermarket valve springs -Aftermarket rear seal cover -Johnson lifters -7.600" pushrods -ARP balancer bolt -Melling oil pump -Mahle pistons, standard bore anyone wanna guess why my shit blew up? I know absolutely nothing about cars and im pretty sure my guess was right. also car was lacking the proper torque converter. I will now have to pick myself up off the floor, and is also why it taken me so long to watch this vid. BIG SADGE. to the owner of the car in the video for me, rev one time for my fallen whip. Much love and gb all. Bill was right. i need a whole ass engine. cost to fix old engine, 10k, cost of a brand new crate engine, installed 11.1k. #fml

The car was built by Holden GM in Elizabeth South Australia. The factory closed in 2017, and took the Holden Commodore and the Chevy SS with it.

Depends what you wanna do really...if it's your daily driver and you might use it for towing and hauling ocassionally, then a cam with more low to mid range would be most beneficial while still gaining a decent top end.

No. It already had an OTR CAI and Solo cat back. Stock auto SS generally runs from mid 350's to around 370 at the wheels.

@@ellsworthconstructionllc It was the 5.3 liter LS4, used in not only the '06-'07 Monte SS, but also in the '06-'09 Impala SS, the '05-'08 Grand Prix GXP and unbeknownst to many, the '08-'09 Buick LaCrosse Super. All ran well, torque steer not much fun.
