The V6 indycar engines, sound so much better than the V6 F1 engines in my view.
@CaesarAugustus275 жыл бұрын
That is actually very true my friend. God, I wish F1 had that sound. Kinda remindes me of the V12's from the late 90's or the early 90's.

F1 = 1.6L v6 hybrid Indy = 2.2L with 2 turbo v6

The f1 The F1 wants to be ecological with engines which do not pollute too much. And honestly the sound of the engines doesn't matter, when you go on the circuit, the f1 still makes a lot of noise

No they don't, even the F1 onboards sound better.

You can really get a feeling of the drivers sight-lines in this video. I find it really interesting how since the camera is mounted on the helmet, it follows his head as he looks towards the apex well before each corner. Really cool.

Oops ! Wrong gear at 2:03 or heavy downshift to brake the car and then upshift to get the momentum back to pass the corner ?

He was short shifting most likely.

Are Indycar faster than the new F1 or as quick as F1 ?
@sirol9710 жыл бұрын
F1 cars will always be faster.

ScuderiaFan Yeah... but comparing with Indycar today... they sound like crap!
@sirol9710 жыл бұрын
NMAV111 Not crap, but not loud. The low revs, fuel conservation and not so good tyres make them go quiet and slower. Some GP2 cars could challenge backmarkers in F1 which is absolutely embarrassing.
@NMAV11110 жыл бұрын
ScuderiaFan Crap... real crap!! My Civic VTI roars more louder than pussy cat F1's of today!!!
@sirol9710 жыл бұрын
NMAV111 Im pretty sure it does not but the sound of the new F1 is not what it should be.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but the video is sped up. Watch his hands when he makes corrections and look how fast he adjusts that knob on his steering wheel when he's pulling into pit lane
@AlexTorres19889 жыл бұрын
+cobrafan427 I think it's only sped up in the end though..
@fordfocusonme9 жыл бұрын
wow you guys never watch racing do you? this is real time. the wheel spins like that because the car is that violent mostly on a bumping uneven street course with multiple types of surfaces.

+cobrafan427 just the comment of someone who hasn't been in a race car LOL

+cobrafan427 This was my nearly immediate suspicion when I watched my first Pagenaud "visor cam" video: St. Pete. Enough experience at the wheel any respectable vehicle at speed combined with years of spectating and a few minute's worth of humility can amount to reasonable skepticism and, at the same time, an admission and understanding that no one besides the professional drivers themselves can truly relate to the speeds involved. I was pleased to come across this clip, as it provided more relatable reference points: the movements of the crew, spectators, and press. While we're essentially all in the same very large boat when it comes to truly understanding professional driver movement speed, anyone should be able to recognize unnaturally quick (and unsettling) movement by the rest of those involved in the scene. Give it another try and study it a little more closely. Driving/spectating experience should not be a factor when it comes to this element. (While there are many figures to consider, focus on the red-shirted crew member at 0:19 as he straightens his leg, looks down pit lane, and then re-settles himself. It's nothing too striking, just slightly detectable and unsettling - like listening to your favorite song played at 1.1x speed. )

+cobrafan427 Experts everywhere lol. Looks just the same as any onboard footage you can view, and yeah they make quick adjustments. Feeling of speed is fast because of the fisheye lense, close to the ground, extremely rough track surface, it is fucking fast. This is their job and they've probably been doing it their whole life. Not to mention hairpin to hairpin this is miles off a quick lap around the track.
